Is there no way that the CSA can not be involved even though she is on benefits - ie that you can put the money into an account for the children to make sure they get the money or that you can agree an amount between you?

No, the NRP cannot apply to go onto the new system.

Now, let me see (strokes chin whilst looking upwards).........

Apart from changing your status, ie marriage and children, has your income changed since you had your last assessment? You say you earn 1k per month - is this gross or net? Your housing costs, can you break them down? Interest and captial, or is an interest only mortgage? What is your Council Tax per year?

The children that live with you aren't yours -is your wife getting maintenance for them? If not why not? (please excuse bluntness - it's just that if possible then all parents should be paying really and it would help your household - clearly if he has deceased then this is different).

Are you claiming Tax credits? Under the old rules, tax credits are counted as your income, which could be why the assessment has gone up?

Kellyaicken, I think it would be a good idea to edit your post to remove your e-mail address.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
  • im not wishing to upset you but if it his his child he should be paying doesnt matter if he sees it or not .. my ex husband doesnt see his children thr his own choice hasnt seen them or contacted them for 6 years .. he pays nothing he owes 9,000 to csa they have yet to get a penny out of him .. but i agree they should of contacted him before surely cant just take that
  • He is not disputing paying for the child, the fact is he came to an arrangment with his ex 6 years ago that there would be no contact and no maintenance paid, this was mutual between them!! Next thing is a MEF turns up at an address he had not lived at for 3 years!!! And a DEO to take £570 out of his wages, as previuosly mentioned on here, a hell of an assumption to make on CSA part that he is even the bioloigical father!!!!! when absoultly no contact has been made by the csa at all, even though my partners work has by law given the csa my partners current address on 2 previous occassions and they have still been sending paperwork to the address he lived at in 2000. Maladministration or what!!!!!!
