new broadband?

Well I am not on a contract with BT anymore for BB and not on a contract with sky either (have BT phone, no contract there either) - so free of contracts and wanted to find out what is my best option as looking for a freebie of some kind (laptop?) and cheaper all round - I like my sky+ so wouldn't want to change that, any suggestions please.

Sky base mid or max broadband if available to you would probably be the cheapest option.
    Check you options on Samknows.

If you enter your exchange details then look on the right hand side of the page to find the list of LLU operators, these will be your cheapest options.
    For example:

LLU operator presence What is this? AOL: Enabled
    O2 / Be: Enabled as of 26/10/2006
    C&W / Bulldog: Enabled as of 20/05/2005
    Edge Telecom: Not available
    Entanet: Not available
    Lumison: Not available
    NewNet: Not available
    Node4: Not available
    Orange: Enabled as of 01/11/2007
    Pipex: Not available
Sky / Easynet: Enabled as of 23/06/2007
    Smallworld: Not available
TalkTalk (CPW): Enabled as of 03/06/2006
    Tiscali: Enabled as of 07/03/2008
    Tiscali TV: Enabled
    WB Internet: Not available
    Zen Internet: Not available

In the above AOL O2 Sky Easynet etc Talk Talk all have their equipment in the exchange so would give you a cheaper service than one though BT.

I read they operate independentley from BT, as in BT owns them and gets the profits, but PlusNet do all the (good) work.
