Talk Plus are being investigated by Ofcom, Mark Thorndike is the officer and the case number is CW/01021/04/090

The company I work for signed up with First Option Telecom and that account has now been taken over by Talk Plus Telecom. We do not want our account to be with them but they have everyone over a barrel don't they? What can be done about this? They keep saying "Your Contract with us" But we did not make a contract with them.:mad:0

Surprise surprise...Firstoptiontelecom is based in Kings Langley just a stones throw from Hemel Hempstead where the disreputable LoRate Telecom...Platinum Telecom (Both now owned by Chess Telecom)..Elite Calls....Talk Plus....OptimumTelecom are all based. I believe that the crook who runs these company's actually lives in Kings Langley.
When will the authorities stop these company's from ripping people off.0 -
There has been a request for a geographical number for Talk Plus Telecom on SAYNOTO0870.COM. Whilst searching for one, I have come across several websites selling telecommunications services, all very similar:

You are quite correct their sites look the same because they are the same crooks who have been prosecuted and are now under investigation yet again. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.0

I signed up to TalkPlus Telecom after being promised cheaper calls. I was a bit wary of them but the salesman told me they were a new company formed by BT to get around competition legislation and thereby compete with alternative companies, i believed this and went ahead with them.Has anyone else been told this story?
Since joining I have found that my call cost has risen astronomically as they put my previously residential BT number on a business tariff! When I questioned this the girl said the swap over was on a like for like basis but this simply isn't the case. Can they legally do this?
Is anyone else having similar problems?
Has anyone else managed to escape unscathed?0 -
I've merged your query with a previous thread regarding this company, not good news I'm afraid.0

Sorry to see you have been caught by these crooks. Check your moneysavingexpert inbox.
They are under investigation by Ofcom ...yet again.0 -
I moved to them 18 months ago. Just a phone call, direct debit form and introduction letter. I have now put in place a change and received a bill for £395+VAT for breach of contract. Apparently I am locked in for 60 months but this is news to me!0

I have found the same, I thought I was being very careful before agreeing, asking to see there terms and confirming everything etc. and ensuring it was only a year agreement. It now turns out that I agreed to a 60 mth contract (I definitely did not!) and there is a payment to end the contract or cancel the direct debt and what they sent me wasn't there terms.
I have asked to be sent the recorded phone calls to pass to my solicitor.
STAY AWAY! BEWARE! of Talkplus Telecom 0844 87590400
