    Hi Dean

    How about checking out the freebies board, the competitions board, and the threads on here about the sealed pot challenges? Also the one about having No Spend Days, they really make you think about what you're frittering away money on!

    Good luck!

    xx
  • Got a letter from the Ombudsman today saying my case against Sainsburys re: mis-sold PPI will be considered by 4th March;
    Also, organising a GP's appointment to get a statement from him regarding my medical condition that I had before taking out in PPI in 2001 which effectively renders it useless to me - that too will be sent to Egg;
    Went to ALDI for some groceries - spent only £2.50 but it's enough to get me through till Monday / Tuesday evening;
    Will comp later.

    Will be spending the afternoon listening to the football on the radio and sending out some positive vibes to Ayrshires top team in our derby cup match!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Afternoon guys, I'm having a day in again today, its so cold, ( im wearing 3 layers!) and am even contemplating doing the ironing to warm up a bit!

    So far I today I have -

    * Checked online banking
    * Checked quidco
    * Done online comps-(5) and sent off for some freebies, incl a packet of veggie seeds off freebie board
    * Checked my ebay items
    * Took big chicken out of freezer for tomorrows lunch, this will also give us lots of meals next week
    * Had toast for brekkie using up dry leftover bread
    * Have a NSD, getting OH to get milk and bread :D

    And I will-

    * List more on Ebay
    * Housework to keep warm
    * Forrage around to find food for tonight, to save us going out
    * Meal plan for next week

    Thats it for now, have a good day everyone x

    Dean - As Lilian says, have a good look around when you have some time, there are a lot of moneysaving challenges going on at the moment and diaries which I find very inspirational, these might give you more ideas, plus the old style board is very useful for budgeting on food etc x

  • Today I paid £0.10 to my PAD (that CC company will think I've gone nuts LOL).
    Also, I managed to get out to work today. The water system in my van has re-frozen in spite of me taking preventative action so I couldn't use that. However, I had some bungalows that were due for a window clean and ended up taking £56 because I can clean them the tradfitional way. Not much but I'm grateful for anything I can earn in this freeze-up. I did get some comments cleaning window in minus 6 degrees but people were fine about it. I managed it by adding screenwash to the water but, even then, the water froze on the glass. I then strengthened the mix and that worked. Quite funny cleaning windows with blue water in the bucket. It had climbed to a heady minus 1 by the time I had had enough but I resisted the temptation to work in shorts. It was slow progress because I had to keep wiping the sills straight away before they froze.
    It doesn't sound much but I earned £56 on a day when most people wouldn't have sent their pet pigs out. I've got a few more bungalows lined up for tomorrow as well if my system is still frozen.
    I owe a bucket load of money. I may even have to increase my debt load temporarily over the next few weeks. But I say that I'm going to get rid of these debts even if I have to live on pasta, rice, fruit, veg and bread for several years (I'm a veggie anyway so that's not the hardship it sounds). Anyway, there are many millions who would be delighted with such a diet so I'm not complaining.

    Aiming for a NSD today, as have way too much work to do to leave the house anyway so should be easy.

    - Leftovers for dinner
    - Signed up for another MS company
    - Look at bank accounts to see about switching
