Sturday 10/1/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • make a loaf in breadmaker -
  • check online banking -
  • move some money into savings
  • update spreadsheets
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • visit market for bargain veggies - 2.75kg box of mushrooms for £2 - bargain - mushroom batch cooking tomorrow :)
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • clean flat with stardrops and microfibre cloths
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership - not been yet
  • reduce reuse recycle one thing - refused plstic bags in town, used cloth bags, recycled oldies xmas cards.
  • do one thing just for fun -
  • sparkle
Woo Hoo its the weeknd again:j :j , so relieved to get the first week at work out of the way. Off to town in minute with friend and DD:rolleyes: , looking for some bargain veggies at market for freezer nd see if any bargains anywhere else.
Need to defrost car first.

Have a great day everyone - catch up with you all later:D

Reduce,re-use, recycle.

Today I am, going to make some meals for the coming week using anything thats in the freezer and store cupboard, I am not going to buy anymore food until payday on Thursday.

I am going to also over this weekend sort out the state of this place and give it a good clean using old style ways with vinegar so as not to buy anymore cleaning products.

Also I am going to list at least 5 items on ebay, greenmetropolis.com and amazon

See Sky, don't know if this is what you've done, but you can buy, for around £15 I think, a Sky FreeSat card (different from BBC freesat), and this gives you all of the channels that aren't on the sky package upgrades.
    http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/

phone and just ask for the card, you need nothing else as you already have the box/satelitte etc.

They just don't advertise it very well :)

Morning Sophiesmum and Candy, brrr it's cold this morning! Not going to chat too much yet, I'm going to do the housework, rather than get distracted!

Forgot to make a loaf, so am trying the rapid bake option on the bm, never used it before. I'll need a nice chunk of bread to go with my hot soup down at the yard later!

So that's it really for the day, housework, horse and I am going to try to install instant messenger later. Details of that palaver on the diary. Oh and update that, of course.

    ..just spotted you, hi mbaz!

  • Hey :) today I am going to have a NSD. Spending the day tidying my aunties kitchen. Its completely disgusting, greasy walls etc etc and trying to be a good niece by not gagging lol. She's away for 3 weeks staying with my cousin so me and my parents are tidying her kitchen up. Going to save on some food as only going to have a little breakfast, less temptation to gag when I see the kitchen!!!

    Today I will:

    - do the washing up OH "forgot about" last night
    - have some breakfast whilst watching "Place in the sun" instead of booking a holiday hehe
    - tidy up living room
    - go through finances tonight when OH gets back from work and throw away anything we don't need. May give to parents to use as bedding for guinea pigs once shredded.
    - Persuade OH to change lightbulb that blew a month ago that I can't change!
