    Afternoon everyone :D

(((HUGS))) Aussielass - I know how you're feeling.

Well, been to mum's and given it a good going over. It's being valued this afternoon for probate, so she wanted everything especially clean and tidy.

Thought I had this afternoon to myself as it was DS2's turn to go to his friends after pre-school, but his mum has a dental appt so I said I'd have him, rather than his gran pick him up. It' s much easier with 2 of them because they keep themselves entertained so much better. Next week I should get an afternoon to myslef :D

So, chicken is waiting to go in the oven. I'd be putting it on for roasties/veg anyway, so thought I'd do 'proper' roast chicken for a change. I've also got a plum crumble out of the freezer to warm through for pud.

I seem to be joining you lot with your lack of TD usage.:) I think I used it once last week and my airer is now full of clothes and standing by the dining room rad. So, I shall continue like this. I will have to put my bedding in TD as it's so big and heavy and also it will mean it doesn't need ironing. I have a load in WM waiting to be hung up and I think I'll stick my duvet cover in whilst I think about it.

Need to run vac around downstairs but other than that, there's not that much needs doing. I had a late burst of energy last night - unpacked DW, made bread then DS1's packed lunch, did thorough clean of hob and oven and did all my ironing. Also sorted through DS2's wardrobe and have taken out all clothes that are too small. We have a charity pick up later today so between Mr TM and kids stuff, I have 2 full bags to be collected.

Ok, hope everyone has a good day. Good luck with your exam on Weds., holstar - glas that's all behind me now (but I do remember how long it took me to recover after I did my finals :rotfl:)

Off to do those little jobs that won't do themselves :D

Afternoon OS-ers, this is a bit later than I normally post on this thread on a weekday but I've been soooo busy, and I've got a nasty bug (basically a head cold with nausea) that is affecting my ability to concentrate. I have been thinking about going home sick, but will probably stick it out to the end of the day and get an early night. Am dosed up on Lemsip.

Hope it's not the same bug that some of the kids at church have got - yesterday I narrowly missed getting spectacularly vomited on by an under-the-weather 2yo in the car on the way to the party her parents were throwing for the baptism of her and her brother :(

I suspect it's probably not that though - probably what some of my colleagues were off with last week.

AussieLass - happy birthday, and sorry to hear about your mum.

C-Q - sounds like it's going great in your new place.

holstar - glad your exam went ok.

cha97michelle - family tree research is really interesting and it's not sad in the slightest as long as you remember one thing...
While the process of what you are doing is quite interesting to a lot of people, the specifics are quite dull to anybody other than the person doing the research! ;)
I'm speaking as somebody whose mother has in the past year turned into a genealogy bore :D but hey, I think I'm an OS bore! My mum has the same sort of little online gang on Rootschat as we have on here

Tonight, if I have any energy at all, I need to do a spot of cooking for the rest of the week (or at the very least, purchase of sandwich ingredients) because I cannot sustain the takeaway lunch habit I seem to have fallen back into lately. Speaking of which, it's lunchtime and I really should eat something to keep me going, though not much of an appetite. Catch you later...

    Hi everyone

I am really late here today, so just want to send my condolences to Aussielass, & hope the birthday goes (actually, I suppose I should say went) as well as possible, hope holstar's exam was ok.

Did my big monthly shop on Saturday, it's nice to have some food in the house again! yesterday we had guests to lunch, so have the rest of the turkey for dinner today - not too much cooking to do, always an advantage.
We had a power cut this morning, so I didn't have a chance to come on here. It's amazing how lost I felt without access to the computer! Last year the local electricity substation blew up quite spectacularly, and the rebuilding has only just about finished, nearly a year later - but I don't think the fault was as big as that this time.

My TD usage is reducing, too. Used it once last week, but mostly the washing is ok in the airing cupboard - which is where I need to go to hang the next lot out now....

    ...bye for now!

Not a very OS day for me. Walked in to town. Bought some new under wear. As the last wire in undies broke in half

And went in to boots but bought some items with points. So sort of free.

And I am in foul mood today and close to tears as I am really hacked off about something. It is really silly but it is really getting to me. I have got a headache but that could be due to me coming off the coffee. Normally 5-6 cups a day  I know, I know. Never use to drink this much coffee when I worked.

My hands and feet are freezing even with the heating on. And I am trying to resist the urge to go and get some chocolate from the shop.

And I found out over the weekend my old primary school headmaster had died. He taught me to write with a proper ink pen. That is one memory I will always have of him. He was really nice and lived in the same village as I was growing up. And would always ask how you where and would always ask my mum how I was.

So all in all a pretty rubbish day.

Big hugs, hope your day gets better xxxxxx :grouphug:
  • went out to use my car and it wouldn't start. I didn't want to mess with it too much as i'm not very techno minded. Rang DH who says its probably a flat battery as it has had very little use while i've been off work.

Only problem is, if that's the case, the car is parked bumper to bumper against next doors, and they are away (don't know till when) so it might be a while before i can jump start it. I hate it when i feel tied to being at home. I know the car is a luxury as not everyone has one, but without it i am stuck at home all alone all day. Good job i get some human interaction on here. The kittens are friendly, but spend most of the day outside/asleep, and don't say much.

Hope i don't need to buy a new battery.

    Evening all!

I knew there was something I forgot to mention, I applied for an allotment last night! i got thinking about the lack of garden and that I wanted to grow my own stuff, but I certainly dont want to move house as I love where I am at the moment. It then hit me that there might be allotments available, so ive applied in the hope! It said on the council website that there was plots available, but im not sure how often its updated so who knows. The boyf supports the idea too, he said he will come and help out too but I think his vision is me toiling away and him in a flat cap drinking bitter in the sunshine or something.

Anyway, todays course was interesting and im looking forward tomorrow, but it was bloody cold! My car was practically frozen and I started freaking out thinking that id be late, shouted at the boyf (cos he happened to whinge at me for something or other), but managed to get there on time - but there was no parking, so I got clamped. Fortunately it was in head office territory so they remove it for free, but what annoyed me was that there were 'no spaces' available for pre-booking, the course starts at 10am and most ho staff are there between 8-9am, and there were free spaces in car share but they wouldnt let me in because I didnt have a passenger. As far as I am concerned, those driving from far flung branches etc should have a space reserved no matter what, do they seriously think we will turn up at 8am to get a space?? Morons.

Im having a lazy evening tonight as ive got to get up mega early tomorrow so its lloyd grossman malaysian rendang in a jar for dinner along with a sniper bid on ebay as an item I want is ending this evening and ive a feeling its going to go cheap. I hope my cc payment has cleared as im going to need to use it (I hope! Its perfect!).

Off to sort rice - have a lovely evening all!

    Evening everyone.

Not much chance to be OS today as I've been at work all day - though I did take lunch with me and my sandwiches were made with HM bread.
A friend at work was wearing a lovely skirt. When I asked where it was from, she told me about a factory shop which turns out to be about two miles from where I live - and I'd never even heard of it! Can't wait to go and take a look now I know about it though.
No Amazon sales today, but one Ebay, so need to get that parcelled up then go and get the dinner - left over roast beef from the freezer, with sweet potato mash, sprouts and green beans. Yum.

    Good Evening All

Quite a late post for me but been busy bee.
Didnt get to do anything after all yesterday as went out all day.

This morning did couple of loads of washing and spent the rest of the day in my office - going away for 2 weeks on saturday so am trying to fit 3 weeks work into one.

Anyway did quite well but am worn out!

Gonna have a nice day tomm - going into town for a birthday pressie & going to buy my favourite magazine and have a 'posh' coffee. Also a little mooch round the shops I think.

When I get home will do ironing and start packing (really hate that).

    Take care.
