Just about to go out to York - need to get DD some new shoes and she will sulk and mutter all day if I try to do something for myself! (She is 20!!! not two!)
Decided a very big bum in blue jeans when you are "mature" cough , is not a good look so going to look at the sales for dark trousers and maybe get my hair cut - am rapidly approaching the eccentric look.
Tea will be filled tortillas and the pile of washing is taking its turn by the WM. 3 loads last night and still lots to do.
DD got so desperate she did her own ironing yesterday but there is still a mountain left.
Could I bear the shame of a visit from Kim and Aggie?

Morning again :hello:
DD is in school after spending 30 minutes this morning trying to get her to do "letter formation" and sentences. I knew she wouldn't finish it so I wrote a letter to the teacher saying (and it is the truth!) that DD just isn't interested in reading the books that are set her, she'd rather read her own and she finds letter formation boring so we're not pushing her to do it as we don't want her to go completely off homework and writing. We actually had tears this morning because she didn't want to do it! Plus we had a major mood yesterday when we asked her to read her reading books. She's quite happy to read Harry Potter with me (I read a paragraph then she reads one, I read another 2 and then she reads one, etc etc purely because otherwise it would take 2 weeks to finish a chapter!!!) but she was saying she finds the school books boring. Personally I think she's not interested as AFAIK she is the only one in class with WRITTEN homework. Changing her after-school routine tonight to try and get the homework done when she gets in - come in, have a drink (maybe a snack) and then homework at the diningtable with me and nothing else happening until she's finished, then she can go and get changed into her PJs. I'm hoping by her staying in her uniform she might carry on being in "school mode". I just hope this will all get easier as she gets older but I doubt it!!
Anyway, yesterday OH and I went to QVC outlet in Birchwood Shopping Centre and I got one of those tin-openers (and bottle opener grip thing - item number 551861 but without the scissors ) for £9.50I also saw a breadmaker for £24.00 ( not instructions!) but I forgot to pick it up :wall: Couldn't justify buying a "Second-hand" vacuum sealer thing as most of them seemed damaged or were too tightly sealed and even at about £17 (instead of £24) I didn't seem like a good idea. So I'm going to have a look on the QVC website this week and make a note of all the items that I want, then go armed with a list of item numbers and costs next time!!! We then went for a wander around what was open in the center (except for food shops - food shopping and OH don't mix as the bill goes up and up and up....) and I picked up a groovy calender for £1, 4 hologram exercise books for DD and some wipes for OH to use on the car (
). We tried Argos but couldn't find anything and I couldn't justify paying Argos prices for Breadmakers etc when I knew that Comet were cheaper. :money: So... we went to IKEA  OH wanted a desk lamp (Halogen one, so we got spare bulbs while we were there) and I picked up a set of 17 tuppleware containers for £3.99
It's got lots of little ones which will be great for DD to use in her lunch box for mixed fruit, banana chips etc, some about the size of a shop bought loaf slice for sandwiches which will be perfect for DD to take salad or pasta for her lunch in
and at a fraction of the price of the "lock and lock" ones I was going to order from QVC :j
Last night I sat up until 12.40am trying to sort out OH's income tax. They're mis-charging him, they actually sent a "bill" for £1006  That will teach me to assume OH understands whats going on  It was only when he got a letter on Saturday morning saying "you have a company car from W... County Council" that he thought "Huh? Thats not right! Whats going on?" that he realised the Inland Revenue thinks he's still got the company car from his previous job (Audi A4, list price £19,046) and are therefore taxing him accordingly !!!:eek::eek: When he gets in tonight I'm going to sit down with him and try to get it all sorted out our end before he rings up and asks if I can deal with it as he just doesn't get it. It's all double dutch and too many figures for him :silenced:
Plans for today :- Eat again (i'm starving after having breakfast at 7.30ish!)
- Finish the washing and take to the laundrette
- See Landlady about our frontdoor - OH had to shoulder it open on Saturday and ended up flat on his face on the stairs. Yesterday, I had to shoulder it open as well and nearly went flying except I'm heavier than OH so I managed to keep my balance. It's not on, also must ask her who's responsibility it is for the carpeting? The stuff on the stairs is loose and OH (carrying DD!) nearly came down them last night as it moved under his foot, fortunatly he went backwards and not forwards! They were in a bad state when we moved in (fraying and the ones in the bedroom were disgusting) and I remember something about it being replaced but I can't remember what was said (well it was about 18 months ago!)
- Batch of dishes
- Post a readers digest letter that should have gone Friday
- Make tea - something chicken (I have a bag of drumsticks defrosting in the fridge) with fruit crumble for desert as I have museli I want to use up  Preferebly before DD comes home from school.
- Find my stash of birthday cards
- Get both lots of bolognese out the freezer for tomorrow nights tea and then left overs can be used to make lasagne for Thursday nights tea
- Go shopping for fruit & sandwich fillings to last a day or two. Might even try and not go shopping at Asda until the weekend .. we'll see.
Oh, BTW, I just remembered that I had to tell you, last night when I was going to bed I noticed some flickering in the alleyway, after climbing into the bath to look out the window I noticed a small fire in the alleyway (nothing to call the firebrigade out on though) so this morning I decided to investigate. I found appriximately 127 used cobble stone dumped in the alleyway!!! So I spent an hour carrying them by hand (2 at a time) into our yard :money: Even if we can't use them, I bet I could flog them on eBayI also found 19p and a lighter! I'll get some lighter fluid and fill it - will save me a fortune on matches with the amount I go through with lighting candles alot :j I guess moving my buddah back to my desk rather than by my livingroom window was a good move

Morning All,
Hugs to all sleep deprived Oser's, Thankfully I had a great nights sleep so feeling in great form today....I often think it is a huge design fault that the human body needs to sleep when there is so much to be done.
DW washed and emptied, wm finished and TD on now! Floors slept, and that is some achievement in this house at this time of day:o
Lots to be done today, both littlies need lunch, DD to be taken to school, while she is there will trek to Aldi and do big shop so I can start menu planning for Feb( 26th -26th) once I see what bargains are to be had. Will then top up with tescos online. First time I have tried doing it this way so it will be interesting.
Getting together with a friend after school for a cuppa :coffee:, then going for a swim again tonight. Have been twice last week as I decided that I needed to take at least one hour a week for me. I was slowly going doolally as I am never away from the kids and realised that I am not a neglectful mother for doing something for me. They are both in bed anyway when I go and I justify the cost as I stopped smoking on Jan 1st, and the benefits outway the cost anyway.
Somewhere amongst all this I should really clean the bathroom, (filthy) and have a tidy-up/declutter in DD bedroom. Lots of useless plastic bits after christmas and soooooo many books. She really is a bookworm and they spread everywhere, but I too love books and find it so hard to get rid of them.
To be quite honest though I would be quite happy to spend the day on here, but it's not to be.....;)Trying to tidy and clean while the kids are still growing, is like trying to clear snow even though it's still snowing
