Morning All,
:grouphug: to all of you this morning, itseems that all of us are having no sleep and feeling awful. Lets hope it wears off soon.
Dark and cold here today, is supposed to be cloudy which is no good for me as I have lots of laundry to hang out. Have to string it up indoors somewhere as the airer is already full. Chickpeas have been soaking overnight and are now on the boil ready for SC sausage casserole. Determined to be better at food budgeting this month. DH makes it hard though as he eats big salads twice a day and in winter all that veg is expensive. Am trying to convert him to casserole/curry/soup etc but he reckons he'll put on weight. I say that at 16st6lbs the salads arent doing all that much for him anyway.
DD1s spots are all but gone now but have to keep her away from school for another week:eek: by the time she goes back it'll be half bleedin' term. Never got the baking done yesterday though so might attempt that later. Need to go to tesco online and revise my order as its due tomorrow and I placed it 2 weeks ago. Did get 1500 extra points tho which works out at £60 days out tokens for when mum comes from nz :T .
otta go, chickpeas boiling over!

Morning folks!
DD has had a good night's sleep, which is always a bonus. Unfortunately due to this stupid cough, I didn't get to sleep until past 1 o'clock and then kept waking up intermittently. DD slept from 18:30 till 06:30, typical!
Ne'er mind eh!
Yesterday DH got off AOK to the US (back Saturday). No idea what his journey was like, as yet to install MSN on this laptop. (Job number one methinks!)
DD understands he has gone to work on a plane, but that's about it!
We went to Ikea yesterday morning. Got there at 10:20 so was nice and quiet (well, as quiet as Ikea ever is!), but as a consequence it was a fairly relaxing visit, and my ma got what she wanted, I spent nowt so even happier.
Mind you I'm sure they'd done something to the layout, but not sure what!
Rest of the day was done doing not-a-lot, bit of washing, bit of ironing, bit of telly watching, LOL. Oh and finding the manual for my Kenwood Chef (KM001) online to see how much flour it will take at once so that I can play bread making in the Kenwood (3lb apparently!). I like my BM, but it would be nice to occasionally have a loaf which is loaf shaped iykwim! (Panasonic SD251)
This morning, 1st load is in the WM, DD's bed stripped, logged in to work and submitted timesheet, now sitting in bed learning Mandarin with Noddy (as you do!)
Things to do today include:
Work
Washing x 3 million loads (where does it all come from!)
Pilates Class
Make Banana Bread x 3 (and put 2 in the freezer)
Sort DD's outgrown clothes out (I've now put them on the dining table so that they look horrendous in an attempt to force me to deal with them!)
Cheque to bank etc
Trip to library with DD after nursery
B - Porridge
L - Soup / bread
D - Summat out of the freezer, perhaps pasta for DD, jacket spud for meGC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning all :hello: Hope everyones weekend was good! Thanks for the birthday wishes on Saturday, I think I managed to thank everyone  Had a good day as it was and got some nice pressies (DVD of "Mr & Mrs Smith", some PJ's, rose scented candles, and a red-hair colour care kit thing
) as well as £50 cash, and my granddad-in-law did it again - he sent me a £15 Debenhams voucher even though we don't have a store in Liverpool :wall: He has been told before but what can you do?
Got to go and get DD ready for school - deliberately got her up early as she hasn't done her homework  Okay so I'm partly to blame as I forgot she had it and I could have sent it with her to Johannes on Saturday night (Johanne : how would you have loved that? Comprehension & handwriting homework with a 4 year old) but thats life. Off to clean teeth and wash her face
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning all!!
DS1 woke me up (again) due to being scared of the dark - apart from leaving on his bedroom light on all night (he has 2 nightlights in his room, one in the hallway & and one right by his bed that he can switch on himself!) I'm stuck what to do!! OH is VERY safety conscious (unplugs almost everything) so I can't imagine he'll let me put a lamp in his room! (I think he's got a bit of OCD!!!!!)
Anyway, because of the early start, we're all ready to go (except for cleaning kids teeth!) Got to drop DS2 at nursery, DS1 at school and then head off to work! Finish at 4pm today, have already prepared dinner (cottage pie, carrots and broccoli with gravy - a firm family favourite!) Roadworks  around DS's school so need to set off 5 minutes early!
Tonight will do bit more ironing to keep on top of it, and a load of washing (would put it on this morning, but I know DS1's school trousers will need washing later!) Have emptied DW and prepared all packed lunches.
Hope that everyone has a good day! I'm going to ask my manager if I can reduce my hours slightly (from 22 1/2 to 21) so that I can do my hours over 3 days rather than 4 - wish me luck!! (I won't hold my breath though - my manager is not the most accomodating!!!)
Will check in later & let you know how I get on!!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Hello everybody,
I haven't posted here for a few days. As some of you know Mum died last Thursday 19th. Her funeral was on Friday afternoon. It's been pretty awful really with strained relationships at the funeral but we all managed to avoid the ones we wanted.;) DH & I were with her when she died which is playing on my mind a bit. ES has just rang up, he & his partner looks like they are breaking up. They have a 10month old son so it's all very worrying.
On a happier note, the real estate came around with a couple today to look at our house. It's only been on the market less than a week. Won't get my hopes up but something positive has to come through. Work tomorrow & wednesday. It's Australia Day here on Thursday so a pubic holiday. :jDD is cooking tea so will go and eat it. Sausages I think.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning all......Brummiebabe - not sure how old your DS is but my DD went through the same thing when she was 3 - We went to the shop and bought her a really sparkly, pink, girly stuffed unicorn toy and told her it was her special bed time buddy - he's called sparky cos he can see in the dark, he chases away bad dreams and won't let anyone or anything hurt her during the night......it worked like a dream and even now at 8 she has to have him in bed or on the bed every night.......if she has a nightmare then she knows to give him a cuddle and go back to sleep. Might be worth a try instead of the light?
DD's were going back to school today - all up early and ready for school.....Got to the end of the drive and they both burst into tears and said they felt poorly...both as white as sheets and burning up.....guilty mummy moment for trying to send them back too early!! They're both tucked up in bed again.
Only one little one here today - he arrived at 7am so he's currently chilling out with some fruit infront of fireman sam. Think it will be early nap time today.
WM's on, DW's on, need to make some banana cake and some coconut biscuits....maybe some shortbread too. BM will be on shortly and chickens out of the freezer for stir fry tonight.
Popped to lidl yesterday and managed to spend £22....that's my shopping budget blown for last week and this week...but I don't actually need anything else (I hope)
Managed to order DD a hair dryer for her birthday last night too (her birthday's not until November!!) DH had the new Amex card through last week and needed to make a purchase on it to get the big wad of nectar points (as per marins email) I managed to find one in Boots reduced to £10, got through a cash back site, so 2.5% back and a code from the code's board for free delivery.....quite happy with that!
Happy birthday Aussielass......
Hope you all have a great day......"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
