that's only after they've had their first one
there's no doubt that they are good at picking up , however the build quality and reliability leaves a lot to be desired , not many people buy a second one

Not all - our Dyson has lasted 11 years and is only now looking to be replaced as the flex is showing due to me yanking it to much!

I vote for Henry. Capacity is way bigger than most others, lead is way longer than most others (I used to be able to hoover an entire 2-bed flat without unplugging), they have plenty of power, they are affordable.

It is heavy and slightly bulky but I think the positives make up for that.

Any recent feedback on the Miele TT5000 Cat & Dog Vac?
  • I have a older model of the Miele cat and dog - mine is around 13 years old and still going strong...even though I accidentally broke a bit inside where the filter clips in. I also have sebo X4 extra upright which is very good.

I have a Miele TT5000 Cat and Dog. Not great. The lid springs have broken and the power cable is not long enough. I think I've had it for about a year. I wish I'd paid a bit more for another upright Sebo which was much better at picking up dog hair.

Echo the Dyson's are crap sentiments. As are Hoover. Just had my own similar thread and ended up getting a Miele Cat and Dog and very impressed so far. Ask me again in 5 years!

    Hi,

Give Miele a call they will send you new lid springs - I have never come across this before.
The cleaner has an operating radius of 10m which should be enough to plug it into a central location and do the whole ground floor of an average 3 bed house. So if yours is bigger you will probably have to relocate half way through.
  • If you order their extension flex hose (SFS10) it also gives you increased stretch of extra hose which in theory means more reach despite the short power cord. This is an accessory you can get by phoning Miele as it isn't on their website. Miele are also including this on their "base" S2 cylinders now.

Had mine for nearly a year and I love it. Picks up dog hair with one pass*, compared to my old Dyson which used to push a stripe of dog hair round the carpet and drive me to tears of frustration (I have OA in the lower back and hoovering is one of the worst things for it).

Also has a longer tube than my Dyson so I can stay upright and not have to slump over.

I got mine from Peter Tyson on ebay, but they also have their own website and are selling it for £180 right now with free delivery.

Only downside for me is the expensive bags, but I'm prepared to put up with that for the ease of use.

    *using the turbo head supplied.
