Immigration officers are trained to notice things, not as well as customs officers but thats a different matter, ie there are things which dont change for example a passengers ears, which are as uniquely indentifiable as fingerprints dont ya know. Also eye shape and colour etc wont have changed.

If in doubt take as much id with you as possible.

DS3 looked nothing like his passport photo, although I suppose that's what happens when a 15 year old travels with a photo taken when he was 11, all cute and lovely and now looming over the immigration officer ...

ETA does your bf have the chip in his passport? I think he needs that, doesn't he? I know someone will tell me if I'm wrong!

See, I said I'd be told if I was wrong. I also remember obsessively checking everyone's passport before I bought the tickets ... and several times after that too!

That is really high. How long are you planning to go for and when?

If you fly economy you can usually pick a flight up with easy for £299ish except for the busy busy times.

Hotel will all depend on where you want to stop and how much you are willing to spend.

from where and price breakdown from flight to hotel then we can have a look and see whats been overpriced for this deal 10 nights isnt cheap in any major city across the world (nyc more expensive than most) but eddison isnt a expensive hotel. I paid alot in Feb 07 for Mankchester flights and 2 rooms in The Westin Times square for 6 nights Around £3.7k (aprox $7.5k) we priced around £4k from travel agents staying in other (lesser) hotels wellington, new yorker etc. Then went loopy on line chasing better and better deals until we settled on the westin 44th floor overlooking times square. Using lastminute and expedia as guides for prices and trip advisor for hotel feedback. We booked eventually through deltas own site and through email with the westin stating it was a special birthday and we had a wheelchair user in our party of 5 they did one room for half price (or so they said) never checked as we were happy with the purchased. Them were the days when you could get $2 for less than a quid just.

96 days until I go back to New York! I can't wait! (April)

Just to add also, I booked my flights/hotel aagggesss ago, and just checked flights now, and they are more expensive by around £250pp (3 of us going), so it's not always best to wait for the 'three month rule'. If it's a price you personally are happy to pay, go for it!
