I'm guessing that we shouldn't take the car into NY? :rotfl:
Thanks for the link, I went to the hotel web site :o
I've also just read reviews (pretty awful) for Delta which is the carrier we're using :o

Where do people read these reviews of delta... I've flown them and not had a problem... transatlantic service will get minimal reviews, and most of the complaints are probably from overpaid businessmen who fly internally....

for an economy flight, I can't fault the delta service, the pizza in a box they serve is a nice touch... it's actually EDIBLE food on an plane!!!

right... i'm off to bed... no.. i should tweet that, not post it on a forum..
  • Gosh, that makes me feel better! Must admit most of the reviews were from 'Mericuns on internal flights. I heard that breakfast was an unripe banana so the pizza sounds fine.

:rotfl::j:jNot when we've offered a couple of easy alternatives (at least one of which involves Grand Central Station and Goat's Cheese!)

  • I'm glad you told me the railway station isn't the same as the one in The Untouchables because I'd have been looking for those steps!

Confusingly, there are similar steps, just the layout's all wrong.

    It is superb though.

I dont know if anyone has tried this place but we will be there for a week next month.

    Kings Hotel, Brooklyn.

The marathon goes past very close to it also early on so it will be good for my OH to try and spot me.
Also I am near to the start so get a lie in, as they close the bridge to staten Island at 7am:eek:

    Average price £75 per night.

No not for charity, just fun ;)

    Good luck.

What time are you aiming for?

I have heard horror stories of a very long wait (3+ hours) in the cold and/or rain at the start. Also no food left if you are later.

You will need warm clothes that you can throw away when the race starts.

Hope the weather is OK though and not pouring down at least (blisters!!)
