thats great greenpixey ,never thought to put pipe cleaners in the limbs ,
how do you keep your stitches so tight?,no matter what I make always seem to be able to see the white stuffing as stitches too big.
I use smallest hook and 4 ply wool ,should my wool be thicker?
I do knit and crochet loose as i have arthritis in my fingers ,but would like any hints please.Earnings £245 in 2014:T thanks to swagbucks0 -

I seem to crochet everything tight, that's probably why all other projects that is not an amigurumi toy looks wrong that I make.thats great greenpixey ,never thought to put pipe cleaners in the limbs ,

I used DK yarn and 2.25 or 3mm hook, but the label on the yarn I buy usually suggests to use a 4mm hook0 -
Love love love the lamb! He has a cute little face. I'll have to try putting pipe cleaners in arms and legs, I haven't made an amigurumi for ages.
I crochet fairly loosely, so if I want tight stitches I just go down a hook size. If I was using DK yarn I'd probably use a 3mm hook for an amigurumi or something where I didn't want the stuffing to show through.0 -

I am in need of help and judging by the crafts on here I think I am in the right place

My friend saw a crochet blanket in the US and has asked me to make it for her.
She didn't take a pic
and has never done any crochet herself.
Very difficult to guess what she actually saw.
After much searching on the web, many cups of tea and lots of meet ups, thankfully its just plain squares in 4 shades that remind her of the sea.
She bought the yarn at John Lewis for £189.00
I'm getting on with the squares now, but she wants about 10 sea things placed at random on the finished blanket.
She is very specific about where they go, what they are and the colours.
I don't have a clue
I can't see in her mind and can't find anything like what she's saying on the web.
The squares are 15x15cm each and she wants the creatures to cover almost a square each, so fairly big ????
This is a list of what they are:
Dark green sea turtle
White coral
Turquoise dolphin
Red crab
Stripped or gold fish
Dark blue whale
Yellow shell
Red lobster
light green seahorse
Can anyone help me out here please?
Either with a pointer to patterns, or a pattern that you have (or have made up yourself).
I'm trying to talk her into buying felt type one's but she has a pic in her mind of exactly what she wants.
I suppose small knitted ones would be ok, I'm guessing she won't know the difference between knit and crochet.
It going to take a couple of weeks to complete the squares because I'm really busy with other stuff.
Please, please, please can anyone help me with this project.
Thanks

Hello all, I haven't posted for ages because life just seems to overtaken me, but I have been keeping an eye on the thread and love the makes that have been added. Clever lot!
Anyway, I thought I'd show you what I've been working on for what seems like years -

No two squares are the same. I actually finished the blanket while I was waiting for voters to turn up when I was a poll clerk last Thursday, so I'm calling it the Election Blanket. No coincidence I had to deal with lots of loose ends I think!
Hope you like them.Oh dear, here we go again.0
