Here are the other blankets I said I'd post...a while ago now. The darker brown one is to go with the coffee coloured one I posted earlier. The lemon one is for DD friend who has had a baby girl and the flowers and leaves are from a pattern on Attic24.
I just love looking at everyone's fabulous work on here, hope you like mine...here goes to try and upload them now lol

Thanks owens3116. Just granny squares, then rows of double crochet with a picot edge.

Can I have some quick help pls?

I've taken a gamble and ordered a bulk supply of cotton yarn from Yeoman Yarns and they say you can choose what weight you want. Am I right in thinking I want DK or aran weight? 4ply is much thinner right?

    Hi npsmama

Yes. As a rough guide, if you take DK as your normal average one, aran is about twice as thick and 4-ply is about half as thick. I've often used 2 strands of 4-ply as DK, or 2 strands of DK as aran and it seems to be ok. If you are buying it for a particular pattern though I'd be careful to go by what the pattern says.

Edit: I just had a look at the Yeoman Yarns link and I don't think they make it very clear just what you are buying in the bulk pack but I'd love to know - is there a page I'm not seeing that tells you?
Oh dear, here we go again.
