Yeah, really easy. I've only done two section repeats of each so far, but it's looking ok so far. You can still see the different patterns in one colour instead of the two. If i can whiz through the ironing i might get another few rows done tonight. Or i could just ignore the ironing...Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120

Loved reading through this post.
I'm 27 and love crocheting!
Admittedly, my passion comes in waves and I'll go a month or two without doing anything, but I'm crocheting every evening at the moment and am currently doing a number of granny squares which I will look to piece together as a blanket later down the line.
Found crocheting a lot easier than knitting (couldn't quite grasp knitting, no matter how hard I tried).January Food Budget: £0/ £500

My finished project at last! A huge king size snuggly blanket in shades of cream and green. It's very warm, and snuggly!

That looks fantastic. Well done :T:T
At the moment I'm making these. They're egg cosies, but I'm making bases on them and putting in big penny washers so I can use them as pattern weights when I'm cutting out material0 -
Great thread!
I learnt to crochet in 1966! Been doing it ever since. I was lucky to be shown how to do it so it was quick to learn.
I'm using up yarn and need ideas please. I have 1,2,3,4, or more balls of a colour which can be mixed, and make things for Charity Shops usually.
Knee rugs, 1 Metre square. Triangular shawls
Cat rugs, 24 ins x 18 ins, which go to a cat charity.
Scarf, Cowl
Can you suggest anything else which is quick to make and not fiddly, which people would want to buy? (Not those little animals!!)
Do you order online and order too much in order to have free postage? I buy plain white now and use it for edgings.
The best crochet tip I ever had was to hook squares together at a ch space, as you go, rather than sewing them - saves hours.0 -

She loves it
It's from Sabrina's Crochet if anyone is interested. She's got some fantastic patterns there, and most of them are free. I've printed off all the Winnie the Pooh ones to do next (I had to copy them on to Open Office because the page on the website is too wide and printing misses off a lot on the right hand side of the page).0 -

Oh blimey that's lovely, so neat and precise, you've got an eye for detail. Thanks for posting the pic. I love hand made things in my home.0 -
I've knitted for nearly 50 years but have never managed to grasp crochet, nothing stays flat, I end up crocheting cones !
I'm going to look at the various YouTube links you have posted on this thread.
I'm an avid fan of Pinterest and there are some beautiful crocheted items on there.0
