    Hi Everyone.

I'm so excited. Can't wait for this to start. I've now updated via google docs and I'm officially starting on £98060 hoping to reduce to £58060, a reduction of £40000.

I know I'm going to get off to a slow start as I have a credit card and car loan to get rid of (See sig). But I am ebaying like mad and am into my second month of Make £10 a day. Last month I made £322 which will be winging its way to my credit card in about 7 days time. It feels so good. Hope to get the same this month.

And hubby is back in work albeit temporarily. So I'm hoping by Feb/March to be able to really start hammering the mortgage down.

I wish everyone the best of luck with this. Bring it on!!:j

Again - Thanks for updating my total Financial Bliss

We are ready to rock & roll, well after Xmas :)
  • I have had a rethink and want to include my secured loan to the challenge and hopefully halve the total balance during the 3 years. I will update my balance officially on Saturday. It's getting close to the off now! :D

  • Phew. Getting quite close to the start now. Just allocated Matt696 this evening:

    186. matt696. Reduce my mortgage from £81,660 to £52,000.

So that's a massive 186 challengers. There's just a a handful of you now without an objective. If you can provide some information, I'll update your details.

Challenge update form is here - this shouldn't change address, so you can bookmark this for use throughout the challenge:

  • Just added my current balance to the chart and it's £46,881.00 instead of the £50,000 I set as my starting figure. I'm encouraged already by that and I'm looking forward to seeing that figure fall during 2010. Bring it on!

I've just called the Co-op and spoken to possibly the most helpful call centre operator in the UK. He gave me our balance as of Saturday (12th), told me how much our daily interest is (£11.66) and explained how I could get access to view the mortgage on line. He has now set me up with a new current account (to view the mortgage on line) and a Co-op membership card to get the Divi.

I've worked out I need to pay off just under £2,000 before 12 March to be on target. Not sure that will happen as trying to rebuild our savings to enable us to afford to have another baby, but we have been told we can draw back the OPs if we need to so effectively have an offset mortgage, which will also be counted towards our 10% OP per year.

I'm getting excited now. Need to sort out our budget and pay off a few 0% credit cards over the next couple of months as well, but we finally seem to be back on track.

    Hello

I have sent a google docs form with my new figures - slightly higher than I calculated - but lower than they would have been without this thread.

    Target - £80,000 paid off by 12.12.12

    Good luck everyone

  • No 49 checking in - just sent off the form to update my starting amount. It's already over £500 LESS than I expected which is brilliant. I really hope to clear this Further Advance AND start on the main mortgage by 12/12/12 so good luck all!
