You've spurred me on, I was thinking of reducing my OPs a bit as things are really tight. I'll hold out for a bit longer and see how it goes.0 -

3rd page again. Standards are slipping. RosieTiger won't be best pleased
Nothing of interest to report for me personally
How's everyone doing?
Black Taxi is impacted due to the ever ridiculous fuel price rises. I'm feeling the squeeze on food & fuel - only me to buy for rather than a whole family though. Am working on lowering these where I can. Developing MPG OCD
Fuel Expenditure / average monthly
2009 £115
2010 £150
2011 £150 average so far
Food Expenditure / average monthly
2009 £114
2010 £112
2011 £107 average so far (surprised this is still so high compared to 2009)
Utilities are up, believe insurance has risen considerably - need to renew Car Ins in June - but I put some money aside every month towards this.
Just had a new boiler installed (Combi) £1700 - I can see already that I will be reducing the amount of gas I usebut it will take me quite a while to re-coup £1700! My old hot water tank which was position directly above the boiler, was corroding along a seam (didn't know this until I saw it dumped in the back yard) and would have resulted in a rather unpleasant leak. The pump was also on its last legs - so overall, very glad I took the plunge and got it sorted.
I don't buy much of anything else and anything else I consider to be a 'Treat' in anycase, so I don't moan about it costing a bit more.
Job seems secure for time being - thank goodness.
So how are you doing in coping with demands on yoru income/general state of the economy? Are you maintaining OP's? Any strategies to pass on?0 -
caz, must stop spending, plus any others waiting for up update to come through...
I'll be processing all outstanding updates this evening. Normally, a chart is left open until the end of the published month, but if anyone can calculate or has their mortgage value for a previous chart, but for whatever reason didn't get around to doing an update, please use the update form and I'll slot the balance into the appropriate chart.

Hi everyone - nearly another pay day, so another overpayment into the offset.
We've nearly spent our renovation fund we'd set aside when we moved in, but have had lots of bog work done - all the windows, conservatory roof, drive, boiler, pressurised tank, woodworm, loft insulation, cavity wall etc. And now we're having the en-suite re-donem including replacing the macerator with real drains so the side of the house is dug up.
I'm dreaming of a building dust-free house! I've also been doing lots of decorating which has involved applying HUGE ammounts of filler to walls and lots of sanding. As a girl, I'm also dreaming of a manicure to look after my very tested hands and nails!
Well done everyone, especially those trying to add value to their houses (or at least not go backwards) in looking to the future.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

We are still managing some overpayments-but I've been off work for 2 months-only just gone back a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping to increase overpayments over the next few months.
Another big bill that costs over £200 a month should be finished by august so I'm hoping to snowball those payments with the mortgage overpayments.
I have to say you're very organised-I haven't even thought about how to work out average spends for everything. My budget is very ad-hoc. I work out how much my main bills are like mortgage, utilities etc then i just spend what i spend when it comes to grocery shopping, petrol etc -couldn't tell you how much i spent last month
So if anyone can give me some ideas of even where to start-that would be great. ThanksGE 36 *MFD may 2043
