Evening folks,
i'm late in updating, i just can't believe this year has gone soooooo fast!
Anyway i'm down to £31986.41 I've got some money saved and could bring it under £30000.00 by the new year. BUT, the lovely weather means that i need some building work doing and i don't know how much that's going to costI'm a little scared to find out if i'm honest as well, but got to get it sorted as i'm heating this side of town at the moment.
Plus the car broke down as well, it seems to be one thing after another but the offset mortgage is working well and i've been able to pay for things instead of panicking and borrowing, i must have grown up along the way.
Well done everyone, merry christmas and FB your a star :A

I forgot to post my total! Sorry - it is £173,337.76 if you could add it in to the table please FB!
The next few days see a big change for me - I exchanged contracts on the sale of this house and the purchase of a smaller one - so I will be able to clear my non mortgage debt and have a very slightly smaller mortgage from next week.....meaning I will be a true MFW and able to tackle the overpayments with a bit more vigourSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Very much so... Well done!
Loopy - a league table is a great idea. A wee bit of friendly competitiveness never goes amiss - that and I can't be knocked off the Champions League places...

loops-juice,
Nice idea. A bit of motivational rivalry
Think this would be better based on actual money paid off, rather than in percentage terms.
Chances are that that's feasible - just need to work out how to present the data / do a chart.
I'll have a look this evening and report back any progress made.

Thanks for the new chart, looking great. Glad we are so far ahead, although it won't be the case forever, it gives us a good grounding for the next 6-9 months as I'll be on maternity leave until next summer. I had a little girl last Friday 10th (for those that want the statistics - Charlotte Megan, 8lb 5oz born at 10:37am) so won't have quite so much spare cash for a while and likely that the challenge will take a bit of a back seat for a few months while we work out the extra expenses and income that we will have.
Well done everyone.
A league table is a great idea, but think a percentage table may be better, especially as different people have different earning potential and therefore will have different capacity to pay of larger amounts. Just my tuppence worth.0 -
CONGRATULATIONS Welshlassie! :j0
