    Thanks FinancialBliss and Gallygirl :T

Bit of shock to see myself in the top 50, I tend to obsess with maximising each month OP and don't think about the overall total paid off, very exciting! :j:j

Also noticed that I've started to slip down the chart in Q4, extra motivation not to hit the January sales :D
  • Hi,
As the original request was in percentages, I may also try a percentage league table chart later today. Should not take too long as I can clone the chart just done.

League table is two sheets, data calculation and presentation. Presentation should be pretty much unchanged, just the data capture and calculation to review.

I also wondered about this, so here's an unofficial chart:

Top movers, moving up more than 100 places in the first year were:
    taxi73 (96) - 149 places
    Welshlassie (7) - 118 places
    RosieTiger (28) - 105 places
    chickadee (204) - 105 places
    dexter fan (131) - 103 places

    Congratulations!

I don't like that one. I'm not on it :rotfl:

This is all v interesting in a 'no-one outside MSE would understand' way :D
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
"Do what others won't early in life so you can do what others can't later in life"
  • Both are interesting to see, but i guess, the second one on percentages would get full of people who are fully paid off as time goes on which would then not allow movement room.

I'm not on either so all theoretical for me, but still very interesting in the sort of way we would never mention to anyone else not on these boards. :rotfl:

Thank you both for the charts, very interesting. I must keep up the good work. I have decided to stop telling my OH about the progress we have made on the mortgage (or at least undersell it) as otherwise I won't be able to encourage him to put money into it and he will start thinking about things like a new car

I was hoping to have a good start to the new year but given I have been spending money like a leaky sieve during the past two weeks I am not sure it is going to happen. I actually overpaid my credit card just now to stop it being such a shocker in January (not MSE but it gives me a bit more peace of mind). It is always a bit tricky in January the bill comes in for all the presents, I get paid early in December and January is such a long month that it is about 6 or 7 weeks between pay days!
  • i DONT like the idea of league tables-it will put people off
its about reducing mortgage debt in your own way--fast/steady/slow

the summary percentage chart is excellent thou---im on target to reduce mortgage by about 80% 12/12/12

We are really chuffed to see ourselves figure in this and can only thank you for the efforts put in to get the these charts compiled.
This just rounds off a fantastic year on this challenge for everyone - congratulations!

Really good point! I've added all participants now, what's cool about that is seeing the number of people paying off their mortgages is increasing: Q1-130, Q2-138, Q3-142, Q4-144 :D

Completely agree with that. Would people not motivated by league tables just not click on the link? If they would click on it and then be put off then I'll remove the link.
