    Morning All,

Today feels like a proper achievement on the overpaying front. Finally out of five figures for the mortgage which now stands at a resplendant £9,000! I don't think we'll manage to trim the remaining 92 days any further unfortunately but, barring a total disaster of some kind, neither will it need to be extended. On the downside, we didn't win enough in Vegas to pay the mortgage off but we managed to stockpile enough to take care of the girlfriend's annual shopping spree without having to tap the credit cards so that's as much a win as I could reasonably have hoped for!!

    For anyone keeping score:

    Mortgage Payment: £827.06
    Interest Accrued: -£14.17
    Overpayment: £2,187.11
    Remaining: £9,000

    Cheers,

    Billy (#85)

    Thanks All,

Black Taxi - We're going to have a crack at Continental from Edinburgh - Newark - Vegas next year but I can't really advise as yet as we've always flown from either Manchester or London. No direct flights other than the odd charter out of Glasgow which are fewer and fewer these days.

Gerbiljo - it really is but this last three months or so has been the hardest part. We're doing a lot of planning now for things we want to do post-mortgage but the inability to do any of them quite yet is incredibly frustrating.

Cheers Taxi73 - every day gets ticked off on the calendar with gusto now and now that we're into double digit days it is starting to feel very real.

    Cheers,

    Billy
