Good for you, for getting a second opinion.

2 points;

Why don't people do what is advised on here and deal with the same recomended/respected/honest mot shop every year.

On an average car you couldn't spend £700 on the braking system unless it had been nicked;) ;);) .

And on a softer note well done in getting the 2nd view, it obviously paid off this time.

You know the real problem was touched on earlier, someone said "you don't want to skimp on the brakes /safety". Problem is some outfits rely on that panicking punters into opening thier wallets:mad:
#ankers:money:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

They touched a nerve because I did panic, and like I said, I would have paid had the money been available.

On the back of the failure sheet is the appeals process for your fail, I think it's to late to appeal as the car has now passed a test. But if you are serious then you should contact VOSA

Yo Keith

24 hours after failing it passed with no work carried out, is it worth me complaining.

Wow; that is amazing!!

Plus point is it looks as if you have found a garage you can trust.

I would echo that point, plus you are more likely to recommend them to others as well, which is a result for them.

There's nothing better than word of mouth for the best publicity.

Ken.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

106 - I'm not sure if it's worth you complaining as I understand it, the only point is to gain a pass, but it's worth calling the number below...
Has been incorrectly failed:
Complete appeal form VT17 available from any MOT test station or ring
our enquiry line, *0870 60 60 440. You must complain within 14 working
days of the test and we will require a full test fee from you. We will then
offer an appointment within five days to re-check your vehicle. If your
appeal is successful some or all of the test fee will be refunded to you.

It's a shame, that we can't have a thread which promotes good local garages without the worry that spammers will use it to promote their own business.

It's also a shame that more people aren't aware of how poor the service is at Kwik Fit, Nationwide, etc.

No idea, why the first line is bold :-S

Actually

If you are not satisfied with the way your test was conducted, please let
us know, as it helps us to make sure MOT test stations are providing a
good service. Contact the Area Manager at your local VOSA office. The
address is shown on the Fees and Appeals poster at your MOT test
station or you can ring our MOT enquiry line on 0870 60 60 440.
