I try and iron loads of clothes as they come of the washing line or out of the dryer to stop it building up. It only takes about 10-15 mins to do a load as I don't iron everything. I don't iron undies or socks, fleece jarmies, knitwear, jogging bottoms etc.

I've got a load ready to go out in the morning, and have another two loads of children's clothes to wash tomorrow and will iron them once they are dry, then do the same on Sunday when I'll wash mine and hubby's stuff.

I do iron our bedlinen as it's egyptian cotton so it creases like mad in the wash, and I prefer getting into nice crisp sheets than screwed up messy sheets. I get insomnia and I know it sounds stupid but I sleep better in neatly ironed sheets!

I don't bother ironing the bairns bedlinen though as it's polycotton and doesn't crease much, and they sometimes play in their beds so the duvets end up screwed up in a heap anyway.

    I don't iron towels either.
Here I go again on my own....

I have an ironing pile. I iron a couple of times a week and then it is all put away. I hate getting stuff out to wear and seeing it needs ironing. I found that the faff of getting the board out is much less awful when I do a pile. At least I only have to get it all out once!

Oh dear, I am going to be in trouble on this one.......

I send all my ironing out to be done by someone else which really isn't at all MSE.

I work hard, am not in debt (other than my mortgage and car) and it is a task I detest. Costs me about £10/week and they do everything apart from underwear, Tea Towels, Towels and my winter dressing gown.

I love ironing. I find it theraputic. I don't iron socks though! And bras just get a mega steam before I fold them. Knickers and pants get ironed. I iron my dusters. I steam my microfibre cloths but don't actually press them, same with my dishcloths. I feel as though they're getting disinfected if I do that. Teatowels must be folded and facing the same way in the drawer.

I love hanging out washing. I love my Hills Hoist. I love my steam generator. I love my big ironing board. I love my Brabantia pegbag. I love my Hangaway. I love the smell of clean washing.

And when the men in white coats come to take me away, i'm going to iron their coats before I go!

absolutely not - for years I used to send mine out - try ironing 14 Thomas Pink shirts each week, but asssociated weekend wear. I am intrigued about the winter dressing gown though :-) Whatever makes you happy and brings less stress into your life is my moto.

    I'm glad i'm not alone! ;)

My mum and me were actually going to take our boards and irons and go to my sister's and do our ironing together (like an ironing bee :rotfl:) - but decided it would be too much hassle loading everything in and out of the cars. :p
