I am with Lloyds and i send several FP's each month, have done for months and they have all been fine.

I send to a natwest bank account, and credit card accounts with halifax, natwest, asda, and barclays.

I always do them on internet banking via lloyds, they always go through and they all have a (very long!) reference number.

So I dont know why its not working for you guys but I have never had problems (yet!)

I've never managed to get a FP out of my Lloyds account by internet or phone banking.

Guess so. They aren't my main bank anymore, and FD don't have the same issues :D

Congrats on 2000 posts, BTW.

There is an article in the Guardian on this very subject.

Tesco Personal Finance does not allow any FPs at weekend
In addition to Tesco and First Direct/HSBC weekend Faster Paymetns also work for Barclays, Natwest, and Halifax IME. There's no reason to p-off the natives for banks to be restricting access to FPS at the w/e - part of the point of having a '24/7' service is to route some payments on days '6' and '7'

I realise that most of the posts relate to the 'immediate' aspect of FP - which should run 24/7.

But worth bearing in mind that FP embraces 3 distinct types of payment :
    • 'immediate' which should be 24/7, but are restricted to £10k
    • SOs which are Bank working days only and can be up to £100k
    • diarised bill payments .... where both timing and value are at Bank discretion. They can run 24/7 or be restricted to Bank working days. They are initially restricted to £10k .... but there is no reason why they can't be opened up to £100k. But most Banks will tend to run both timing and value as they do for SOs.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • I tried for a FPS yestday but its of no use.. and whole funny thing is I am trying to send the money to a Lyods accnt which shows 4 days when I try internet banking.

To-day, I had my fourth attempt at sending FP via phoneline. The advisor can see before executing the transfer whether it is going to go via BACS or FP.

Never once have I managed to send a FP from TSB! I tried numerous different destinations (all personal bank accounts), see post #14, and very small amounts.

To-day, I was told that FP are completely random. "It might be sent via FP to a destination this month but it might not work the next month."

If it is completely random you would think one of my attempts would have gone through!

Has anyone managed to send FP to a personal bank account?
Has anyone managed to send FP from TSB Scotland?

Yes, several times times and It has worked each time I have phoned up. The largest amount has been for £2000. Are you you using the 'PhoneBank' service or just a general number to contact Lloyds (that might explain a difference)?
