i've found 2 good hosts which let you use your own domain name e.g https://www.myself.com, rather than force you to use myname.webhost.com. 1. freevirtualservers.com - good but a bit slow with support. i think they give about 100mb or 50mb at least, which is quite a lot for personal or even community websites. the catch?…

I use freevirtualservers and I'm very impressed with them. They offer 100mb for free, but I exceeded that in my first month with them (the site is about 3 years old, so getting quite a bit of traffic). For £25 a year I get 4Gb, of which I only used 160mb last month.

Also included is lots of free cgi and php scripts, and 5 MySQL databases.
