    Afternoon all.....
I too come from a family of finish whats on your plate... I actually had to show my Dad my plate before I could put anything in the bin... however I was very lucky that my Sister and foster brother would eat what I didn't want usually the meat as I didn't like to chew in fact I was a lazy eater so they ate most of it..... well the main dinner not the desserts as I could always manage those.......lol
This all change once I had my first Son and found the appetite of an elephant..... I have changed all that and now I like to leave something on my plate as a teat of willpower or something like that........

Paul McKenna mentions leaving something on your plate, or even - silly as it sounds - throwing a bit away first before you sit down to eat!

I gave my OH half my breakfast, seemed to help.

I don't want to paint my mother as truly awful as I don't remember if often but one or two occasions of being made to sit at the table until I'd finished literally hours after dinner and crying into my soggy veg or whatever.

I am so determined not to force food issues onto DS and no food is forbidden - well there are things he WILL NOT have such as fruit shoots/aspartame but chocolate, cake, mac-d's etc I want to be seen as normal and not 'special' so there's no rebellion. In theory!

    Evening!!! :D:D

I have been soooooooo busy today, in fact for the last few days really - haven't even taken the Xmas tree down so really must do that tonight, along with dyeing my hair and doing the ironing.....gahhhhhhh.

BF has gone out for a curry with a mate though so I will have some peace and quiet :p although might get a drunken phone call later (he usually asks me to marry him, and I have to gently remind him that we are both in fact still married to other people, so that may be a little way off yet lol!). :)

I think kids should have healthy choices as the norm but you're right you can't demonise foods as they will rebel later.

what's up with Fruit shoots? as oppose to any other drink? erin has been known to have the odd fruit shoot....... should i be worried?

    crap crap crap crap

Am having to take chalky to the vets - for a cuddly friendly cat he's been a real grouchy git this past couple of days not letting anyone pick him up without growling and we thought yesterday he was just a little off and to let him settle and he'd be 'right as rain' again in no time. today he's even worse so I've phoned the vet's and taking him for 7pm and I just know it's going to cost a blinking fortune... just when I'd sent the last debt payment off AND cancelled all the blooming credit cards so I've no idea how I'm going to end up paying for it all!

    Wish me luck...
