Hi scarednshakin, welcome to you too! Scotland is my neck of the woods originally.

Hi YM! Not doing too bad thanks, sort of content as can be really, got no debt, got health, got family, got a job although would really prefer to do something different now. Am feeling totally fed up with work and sent off my CV to few more places in the past week.
The club is getting bigger all the time, glad you have a bit more company now.

Hi Donna, thanks for adding me to the list - hope no 13 will be lucky

Will let you all know when forms have been posted, just about finished them. There could be a few attempts at going to the Post Office, know this has to be done, but doing it hmmmm. Had lbm, switched it off too many times. Now am trying to sort my life out :T:T

Hi scarednshakin,
I don't tend to believe in unlucky numbers but if you would really like to have another number, you are most welcome to change? I am sure 13 will be fine though.
Is it just the little fiddly bits of the forms left to complete? I kept putting off finalising my forms (did it online) but eventually had to bite the bullet and get it done. If you have got the bits like your soa finalised and your statement for cause of BR done, thats the main bits - well its the bits I worried the most about really.
Keep us updated.

Thanks for that Donna but No 13 is fine, whatever happens I don't think being No 13 will make any difference.
The forms are a bit different up here, there is no SOA, as far as I can make out that happens after I send in these forms. They are basically all your debts  , bit of a shock. Then heaps of other questions, answered most of them yesterday but will finish it soon. It says on the form that is should take 5 working days after sending them in. Had lbm, switched it off too many times. Now am trying to sort my life out :T:T

it is scary when you actually put down all your debts in black and white on paper I know, I sort of knew what I had because I had been on a cccs dmp before I went BR. But I didn't like writing it all down and then having it gone over by the clerk at the court. When you need to do your soa, just post it on the board and we can help with the things you can increase etc.
So do you not have to actually go to the court at all in Scotland?

Oops - forgot to mention where the OH is at in the procedures. He's done the paperwork barring last minute checks and tweaks, we've got the court date, so all we can do is sit tight and wait three weeks!
I have a question though - He has a CCJ due on the 14th, but is going BR on the 17th - what will happen if he defaults on the CCJ, as it's so close to going BR? Or would it be better if he paid it?
And is it me, or does the 17th feel like an eternity away?March 2009 BR club member #11 :jBSC # 238Proud Mrs of a skint bloke who is trying to make a mends!:smileyhea0 -

No, as far as I know, send in papers and then wait to be notified that you are br. It is the Accountant in Bankruptcy that deals with it and you are contacted after that about meeting (gulp). You don't have to go to court and they put your name in the Edinburgh Gazette, not local papers. So it is a bit different. Had lbm, switched it off too many times. I'd like to join please. My date is March 6th! Joint Br with hubby.
Have barely started my forms, hubby not started his at all yet! Starting to panic now:eek: Both self employed, mine means closing down a business so I'm finding these final days hard now, getting really emotional.
Have closed one half down on Saturday gone, was there today putting signs on window to sell a few bits and bobs to go towards fees and survival! Remaining half will be in the hands of the OR come March 6th! Strange feeling!
Heres to a brand new start!!;)
Court date March 6th!:j 1 week after BR and feeling pretty good!:j0 -
Hi Simpsona! Welcome to the March club. Don't panic, just get things started and do a little at a time and make sure you ask any questions here when you get stuck on things.
