I like the show, not only do you get to nose around people's houses but it gives an idea of what property costs in various parts of the country that I've never heard of
Kirsty and Phil are entertaining, especially when they bicker, and I thought Phil put her in her place last night. I wonder what the couple were thinking when they were upstairs discussing and could hear Kirsty yelling at Phil downstairs. Very professional. :rotfl:
The woman last night was terribly irritating. With that level of pickinesss I don't understand why they didn't just buy land and build a place exactly the way they like it. Although the place they did get was so run-down it should've been demolished.
Did anyone else think that the backyard office looked nicer than the house?0 -
Do you think the bickering is real? I dont think so, its to add a bit of flavour to a very bland format.0

I think a fair bit of it is. They might be encouraged to antagonise each other but then again they do seem to enjoy it. Kristy isn't that good an actor and has a firey personality. At least her on-screen character does.
Either way who cares? It's entertaining!0 -
I didn't realise it was back on, so I missed it (although enjoying this thread!)
I have always liked to watch it, along with many of the other house buying programmes.
I can understand why people might think it's not quite right in these times, but lets be honest, haven't lots of these programmes always been about ridiculously priced houses? For years I've watched when people having been buying second homes for more than I could ever possibly hope to even get a first one.
So to show people buying half million pound homes is nothing new - and whilst yes the housing market has crashed, and yes "normal" people are struggling with redundancy and mortgages etc, a recession often barely affects those people with lots of money.
I will have to look out for the repeats, I must watch this annoying woman you're talking about!0 -
when is it repeated anyone? i want to watch it..but im on shifts so miss a lot of tv. i love RR and LLL i love looking at all the houses i couldnt afford and what is in them and i am amazed at the 1st time buyers with £300k to spend!!! what DO they do? apart from borrow to their limits?TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

To be honest, most of the couples they have on these programmes are bloody annoying - at one point I was beginning to think only gay men were buying houses.
You have these daft tarts saying, Oh, look - purple walls, I couldnt live with that (dont they know you can repaint?)
Then what was that chap who was on there and it turned out he was a scam artist some years back? Big black chap?
They must all be odd, I mean, would you want people to know you even had half a million to spend on a run down place? Burglars probably sit there taking notes.
I think the one couple I did like - were the country couple, they seemed to be down at heels aristos who were looking for a farm to have camel races - lol0 -
Never have I been as stunned by what this couple bought in the end! Whatever was the appeal of a grotty bungalow on a slope near a main road - that they tore down inside and thought it would take 60-70k to develop! Anyone with any sense would have pulled it down and started again.
I live in the North Somerset area and am going to try and find out where they are and how its all going! Watch this space - I think I know where it is.........
I live in North Somerset too, but the fact that people ask £360k+ for buildings like that bungalow is the reason I won't be stopping much longer!
I'd guess it is within spitting distance of the M5 if the guy worked near Reading.0 -
I think Steph is who Veruca Salt grew up to be. She had to have everything right now. She came over as a spoilt, whiney little princess. That poor guy will be working overtime or two jobs to keep her in the style to which she would liketo become accustomed. What did he see in her?
Why buy that bungalow and then rebuild it? Steep slope in the garden, not a nice road. Bet she just wanted it and he gave in. Money pit.
Kirsty is pregnant - it was cited as a reason for rowing with Phil. "Don't upset a hungry, pregnant woman". I don't know if it is my telly, but Kirsty always has a slight moustache on our screen.0
