omg who wouldn't alter it! I'd get her to put it in writing that all she can do is tell you to lower it! Contact the DW & Police & let us know!

photograph any injuries you and the pup may have, contact housing, dog warden, and police, file a complaint with every one of these.
  • Hey!
I have a ridgeback and a german shep. We also run a small 'pet hotel' so we look after dogs too (the well behaved ones only). We look after a couple of lovely staffies that are the most affectionate dogs in the world! So i agree with the people on this thread that say its not the dogs fault.

secondly, please please please please!!!!!! becareful when any dogs fight!! If the dogs are fighting, please dont pull them apart by the collars as they can turn around and bite you! Unfortunatly dogs go into a 'trance' when they fight and even your own pup can turn against you if he/she feels like you are a threat. Your pup sounds very scared and submissive, which can be good in a dog fight as they are both fighting to be higher in the 'pack' so if one backs down, usually the fighting doesnt get too bad.

But no matter what please dont pull them apart by there collars (i learnt the hard way with that one but luckly the damage wasnt bad) if you need to break them up, try squerting cold water at them (hose or something)?

i think that makes sence lol but over all id ring the police and get this sorted before it comes to that! Hope that helps alittle :/ xx

It sounds your be better off reporting this to the council's anti-social behaviour team rather than the police or dog warden. If the dogs are getting into your property regularly and the owners aren't doing anything about it and the kids are kicking a football agasint your fence it sounds like the anti-social behaviour team may be more skilled in dealing with than any other department. Your'd have to keep a record of what happens.
As long as you don't think your neighbours are agressive I'd go round and talk to them about the problem and come to a soloution. My dog attacked our neighbours dog when it strayed into our yard (the gate was left open between the two). Although it was her fault for letting her dog stray into our yard when she knows our dogs hate each other I paid the vet bill (just cuts)but she still called the police even though I was decent about it and offered to secure the rarely used gate between our yards but she I guess she was upset over the dog. The police admitted to us there is little they can do other than ask us not to let it happen again.
However if the dog attacked you then the police have a duty to take stronger action but at the end of the day you still have to live next door to these people and although the council won't say who reported them they are going to guess. The same with the police. So if you don't feel you can talk to them then you need to take action to make sure it doesn't happen again (even though your not at fault and its them who should be taking these steps).
Personally I'd move somewhere else (especially if I was renting the property) and let someone else deal with the problem as problems with neighbours tend to just go on and on until one of them moves.

can't people like this be evicted?disgraceful

i have a bull terrier x and a staffie x !!!!! (both rescue), and whilst they are ok in the home and with people/kids, they don't like other dogs, and the dog is a real b*stard around other dogs.

I feel for you. Press the council, let's not forget if you pay council tax, you contribute to their wages. also, if they have an obligation to do something, make them bl**dy do it!!!
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
  • im having a problem with my neighbours dog too, only person willing to do anything is the housing people - theres a bit in the contract that says dogs must not become a nusicence to neighbours - does yours say something along those lines?

The police WILL be able to do something as they are escaping their boundries so call them ASAP

    Good luck!
