Northern bank you village idiot, not northern rock!! or do you struggle with reading as well as basic arithmetic?
The N/a refers to the rate past the initial term, which means NOT APPLICABLE to variable rates. How does it feel now that everyone knows you are a barefaced liar?
i may struggle with my reading and spelling, but if anyones basic arithmatic aint to clever its yours.
Has for being a barefaced liar, where have i lied?? i may have got a name wrong, yes, but does that make me a liar??
You posted the deal the so called northern bank do, and the best fixed deal they do for first time buyer is over 6%.
You and Neas are in the same boat you are bitter with everyone who has made it hard for you to get a decent mortgage, dont worry im not one of them, but i will give anyone who has made it harder for either of you to get a house, due to not been able to get a mortgage a pat on the back.:T

I take it you struggle to read as well?Variable 3.49% Variable N/A 3.6%
Why dont you slow down and read peoples posts before hitting reply?
How is your equity doing by the way? :rotfl:Hope you dont need to remortgage any time soon, like when rates go back up and you have no equity!!!0 -

Variable. Not fixed. I was showing you the range of options.

Oh you was showing me a range of options that are available to me, but not to people who are in your situation, cheers i needed that lol.
Thats where im lucky and i can gloat at your stuation, my house is worth three times what my mortgage is presently and thats with the reduction of 37000 pound since i put it on the market.
Im trying to move up the ladder, im waiting for people like yourself to get a mortgage, and kick start people house buying again, but the more i look at the deals for first time buyers i can not see it happening, i dont blame you for not jumping in you will be getting ripped off if you do.
Oh and my fixed rate is up in two years, i currently pay 360 pound a month, even if rates went up to 12% my mortgage would only be 486 pound a month.
if your going on the variable rate which you quoted and it went up to 12% your payments would be 1600 pound a month, and thats for 25 years:eek: mines for 15, but what i might do is when im in my last year and there are decent fixes for people like myself i will cut it down to below 7 years and pay my mortgage off.
Really this post isnt about our situation, i feel very lucky to be in the position i am in, thats why i have a bit of sympathy for people who are less fortunate like neas and yourself.
Neas came on here making out is life was all rosey blaming the OP for why we are currently in the mess with the banks and that ot was her own fault, which i thought was wrong.
He then went on to say how much of a great situation he was in, at this point you came in and said he was in a good situation, but i think you only done that because you are in a similar situation to him. You can tell yourself all day long that you are in a great situation, but with all the things i have pointed out to you, the pair of you are not in a very good situation at all.
I see Neas as shut up and disapeared underneath that rock, must have realised hes not has lucky has he thought, its about time you realised it too.
How lucky do you feel now.:rotfl::T

Hi Claire
I'd go for taking him to the cleaners. It's already turning nasty and trying to be nice will only last whilst he's trying to get off lightly, after that the knives will be out.
Just a thought and I have no knowledge of benefits or whatever they are called now, but is it possible for you to claim benefit for the interest on the mortgage? Your ex could give you cash which you can use to pay the repayment part of the mortgage. I don't know if this would impact on any other benefits you are getting and I'm sure someone will be along to give a reason why not but I though I'd throw the idea into the pot.
Good luck and keep strong.0 -

you right and i agree all the way im not going to post again in this thread, it is nice to be nice, some people jump on peoples backs when they are in a bit of a mess.
I could not offer any advice on the problem the lady has got, but im not going to come on here and blame her for why she is in the mess, because we can all see it was not her fault and she just wanted help.
I just hope now these people who think they are in a rosey situation think about what they post before they start gloating at other peoples misfortune.
Has a lot of them when they look at their own situation it is not that great either.
I apologise to anyone my post's have upset, but sometimes people just have to be told how it is, if they dont like it thats their problem.

Just like to add, didnt go under a rock and confused you trumping around like a big ape.. thinking you proving yourself right... you misreading/misinterpreting multiple posts... yet blowing your own trumpet.
I said... I want to buy a house that is currently priced at 130k.... given a drop of 16.9% per year that house will be around 102-105k asking price... I aim to push that down to 100k... and with a 40k.. deposit will be 40%...
Simple maths? its 130,000 pounds now.... in 2 years with the current drops in prices it will be 100,000 pounds. Sheesh... at least read before making out your are the messiah heh.
Sorry guys had to point out the stupidity of his posts one last time :P0 -
