    Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to say I saw heaps of stuff on clearance at the White Rose Centre, Leeds, West Yorkshire. There was lots of Dark and Lovely (or Dark and Beautiful or something) products at like £1.00ish. This was near the tills. There was loads of other stuff as well, but cannot remember the name of the company.

Also saw lots of posh hair dryers and straightener things on clearance. There was lots of Boots suncare stuff like lotion, other strange things and what not. Most of this was at the end of the aisles.

Also had lots of S+G Admit It You Want Me sets if anyone round here is planning on spending £12+ or just want to buy them for £5.00ish.

Thanks for this info, but blimey this is doing my head in! Last year I went ot the sale on the Monday, when it didn't start till the Tuesday! This year I was all ready for it to start on Tuesday, but was now assuming it will be Weds 14th. This doesn't really matter, as I can take eithre day off - BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHICH ONE!

Im afraid there will always be a debate over what date it starts as we are all really guessing and going on what sales staff are saying. However even this is contary as some sales staff have said the end of the month and different days .They themselves might not definately know, to be honest unless we have a note from MR Boots we dont definately know.
The fact that it hasnt started online and there have been no publicity emails has kind of thrown things & is against last years norm.
However last year boots was taken over so might now have a new policy.
As Mr B actually made a profit last year ,after their takeover so might just be hanging on to increase profit rather than turnover & impress their shareholders .

But as the normal offers change on a wednesday I am plumping for next wednesday. As its easier for staff to change prices on the tills & instore on the same day as they normally would . If im wrong ,im wrong ,but I cant afford to keep travelling to boots stores either as im sure is the case for many of us.

We could ask Martin :A to give MR B a ring and ask -they might tell him !!! :p

The website is being a pain for me, I can't add anything to my basket it says everything is out of stock, even normal stock items like ibuprofen.

I've just clicked the half price sale promotion link from one of the items and it comes up as 'no active product found under this promotion'. website going squiffy again I suspect.

  • someone early was questioning the fact is it better to go 342 or buy the items separately or not
this really does depend on the price
if it is a higher price item you will be better off to do the 342
    ie £18 + £18 + £18 -£18 -£5 = £31
    £18 - £5 = £13 x 3 = £39

if it is a £10 item the sum works out the same £15 for the 3 items

if it is £7 it would work out cheaper to do it separatly
    £7 + £7 + £7 - £7 -£7 -£5 = £9
    £7 - £5 = £2 x 3 = £6

BUT if it was £2.50 go for the 342

you really have to work it out on how much the items are and do your sums....but don't forget to ask yourself ....'do i need all 3 items?'
    i hope i haven't confussed you all too much:o
don't forget also to take in to consideration, the £5 spends to get the blinkies...this too will add up
    happy shopping:o
  • I popped to my local today and found some of the reduction Radox deo's. My one and only shop was:

    pantene 1.85
    pantene 1.85
    olay wash 2.93
    radox elements 49p x 4
    Olay GWP

total was 8.59 although I had 2 £1 off Pantene, these wouldn't scan but I was refunded £2 and gained 264 points.

Got my first blinkie but no idea what to get with it!!!! :rotfl:

    snipped........

When I was in Speke yesterday they had got some more stuff in and were re-arranging it but had half the space empty and it has been for a week now so they are either going to get more in or change the display. They also have an amazing display of wrapping paper and crackers. Not many bargains but some reduced No7 creams for your blinkies and some sale sets

Hi Emmy, work keeps me too busy most days to get to go boosting, but I try to keep up to date with this thread and always post when I can.
Thanks for the info` regarding Speke.
There`s a newish store opened in Aintree which is quite nice, didn`t have much sale stock left but alot of empty shelves so more stock may be coming?
Last couple of visits where to C Square, they have masses of giftsets left, both downstairs and up. I couldn`t see any Olay GWP`s there though! That`s where the mens No7 was scanning at £4.93 instead of £6.23 ?

Off today with DS so may hit Speke on the way to Chesire Oaks, and of coures the Boots in the Coliseum.;)

Warm welcome to emmylivy and jpop   Its nice to have a couple of extra pairs of eyes in Liverpool. It's always good to have to have somone local (to me anyway) joining the board. I totally agree about Speke, It looked like it was closing down when I was there earlier in the week. There were so many empty shelves. I hope they are going to fill them with sale goods, ready for next week.:j :j I haven't managed to get to the Aintree one yet. :o
