January Grocery Challenge (starting 31/12) £0/£3500 -
Was umming and aahhhing whether or not to post this. Every single SA who I have got into chatty conversation with, in the last week, who has actually answered my question re the sale, has said "Wednesday". Except one.
It was yesterday when I asked her and she said "tomorrow". "On a Sunday" I said amazed. "Well not exactly starting tomorrow" she replied. "We have to sort things out for the sale on Monday".
I've noticed that a lot of our "I know for a fact but I'm not gonna tell you" peeps haven't posted on here lately. Not even to say that we're right about Wednesday.
I'm b/sitting tomorrow, but can get to my local rubbish branch at 9, and if It Has Begun, will come straight back and post on here, prior to b/sitting duties. I've only posted this cos I've noticed a few posts are cropping up with "Monday" mentioned.
Could be that the SA was Mr B's grand-daughter, and was told to send everyone on a wild goose chase. Cos Mr B is a ..... wonderful man and I love him dearly!

But is he telling you porky pies? Wouldn't this be more than his job's worth? I now feel paranoia surrounding me.
Princesswoo I nearly wet myself laughing at your post :rotfl: "I will get to Boots, even if it kills me!"

Thanks, Sandra! I always enjoy reading your reports!
Unfortunately, I'm an inner-Londoner and I don't drive, so that's why I've limited it to shops within walking distance! I try and avoid 'town' (ie, Oxford Street) as much as possible, but I think if I start getting the hang of it in my more local shops, I might venture to Bond Street for a super-shop!
I figured trying to master the sacred art of Bootsing fits in with my New Year's plan to get fitter - if I walk to Boots, I'll definately feel like I've earnt my bargains!
What a good idea, I hope it works for you. :T :T What an incentive as well. You not only lose pounds you gain £££'s too. Plus carrying home the heavy bags will also help burn calories. If I were fitter I would do it too, as I dont drive neither. Good luck~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
I might be going to town tommorrow, so i shall of course pop past boots and have a nosey, would be nice if it was tommorrow as i will have DF with his car. There was a lot of extra never seen before stock in my boots yesterday. Before that i was thinking i wouldnt bother but having a look yesterday is what got me tempted.
Sandra - I live in the middle of no where, have just moved here, the buses arent that regular and take about 90 minutes to do a journey that takes 15 minutes in the car as it has to stop and detour through all the other in the middle of nowhere places. So a big pushchair and loads of bulky heavy boots bags in gonna turn a normally fun trip to boots into a nightmare, although i could justify a taxi back as i would have saved loads but that defeats the object.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -

Exactly - I live five minutes walk from my office so I need some kind of regime! Also, trying to blag £0.00-scanning GWPs at SS tills will give me a good adrenaline rush - which I think is also healthy once in a while.
I always maintained my two favourite forms of exercise were shopping and clubbing/dancing! Who needs aerobics?0
