Planning to go on my first proper Bootsing mission this week. Just wondering if any of you guys have any experience with what will be the easiest branches for me to get to (all London): Cannon Street, Liverpool Street, Gracechurch Street, Monument & Canada Water?
Looks like they have SS tills in Liverpool Street, but as it's a station branch, is it very big? Would I be wasting my time going down there to try and get a GWP?
And generally, what are these branches generally like in terms of range, size, friendliness and accomadating-ness of the SAs?
Any and all tips gratefully recieved!
Hallo, and welcome to the fold! I'm an outskirts of London Bootser, and it really depends what part you're coming from. For example, Canary Wharf has two branches, the one next to Waitrose is smaller, but has SS tills, and the one opposite M & S doesn't have SS tills but is much bigger.
From there, you could go to Canada Water, but have never visited that branch. If you could possibly get to Bond Street, that one is huge, but didn't appear to have loads of sale stock ............... but in could be out the back.
Best stocked one I've seen recently was at Lakeside, but that was last Tuesday, and things might have changed since then!! SA's vary from branch to branch and in branches. HTH and Good Luck!! :beer:0 -
Hi all, had a lovely unexpected bootsing trip today. Managed to get :
3 x No7 blusher reduced at £2.14 on 342 and used blinkie so nothing to pay.
Had some returns for things i just had not got round to using and sat in my car boot so got £6.xx to spend so bought reduced sanctuary handwash £2 and elle mac party & rejuvenate gifset £20 on half price so £10, so basically £6 to pay and got another blinkie. Also bought £1.38 boots knee high socks for 2 pairs reduced from £2.50 and used 100 points mailing voucher so got them for 38p in boots logic. All in all great tripYou laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)0 -
RE: the London stores, the Canada Water store is not that big- about the size od the smaller one in Cnary Wharf, perhaps fractionally larger- but thinner- not much room for stock I don't think.
The Liverpool street store is quite a fair size, not as large as Picadilly, Oxford Circus (otherwise known by previous poster as "Bond Street" as its at that station) Lakeside is a decent size, and Bromley. But have not visited any of them to know if they actually have any stock left- does anyone else have a clue? or should I take a coach up North!!0 -
Please can anybody tell me when the boots 75% gift sale starts? rumours are this wednesday 14 Jan?0

Thanks, Sandra! I always enjoy reading your reports!
Unfortunately, I'm an inner-Londoner and I don't drive, so that's why I've limited it to shops within walking distance! I try and avoid 'town' (ie, Oxford Street) as much as possible, but I think if I start getting the hang of it in my more local shops, I might venture to Bond Street for a super-shop!
I figured trying to master the sacred art of Bootsing fits in with my New Year's plan to get fitter - if I walk to Boots, I'll definately feel like I've earnt my bargains!0 -

I think I know why the fort was empty today, because it's all at EK. Oh my gosh, they had hundreds and hundreds of sets in there today. Very well stocked and I may just head there on Wednesday instead of the fort. HTH.
which one did you go to - town centre or retail park? ( EK) I have been trying to stake out the both of them - fear I will soon be arrested for loitering keep trying to find freindly SA that will tell me about the sale.:rotfl:No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

One of my local stores had a delivery of POS on Saturday for Wednesday, staff seem to think it's for the sale.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

I didn't have a great Bootsing trip today at London Colney. No Olay or any other GWP to be found.
(my friend tried the No7 one as she was buying a foundation with her blinkie, although not the right one, but it wouldn't go through.)
Managed to get 5 pantene sachets and a no7 iluminating lotion reduced to £5.26 (or 26p as I bought it with my blinkie)
They also didn't have any perfume samples for the voucher I had printed off from the first page here.
Hopefully I will have a more successful day on Wednesday at the sales. There's a skinny woman inside me screaming to be let out. A cookie soon shuts her up!!! :rotfl:0 -
I had a bad day at boots yesterday. Had a right dragon, she was so nasty she made me loose my temper which isnt easy to do.
Anyway i told her i was going to go to someone else with my shopping and that she should learn to smile so i went downstairs and got a nicer SA to deal with instead. I think i have bagged myself a reputation there now, so i best stay clear for a while.
I bought what i needed, plus some imperial leather shower gel, that is 1/2 price and DOES have a SEL to say so, so down to 73p a bottle and they smell lovely, I used all my points coupons and vouchers, I spent about £35 and got back 2245 in points, so i was pleased. Still have some blinkies left.
Still no No7 Minerals in stock and its been 11 days now. And the NO7 had no idea when they were getting stock and was rather surprised when i said 'oh not fair all my friends have theirs already''
So if someone would lie to get me one, i will gladly forward blinkie and cash + postage, as i really need one before the blinkies run out.
NO free GWP either and i was looking really hard, i would like to find at least one, i hate being left out. I dont even care which one i find i just dont feel like a proper bootster until i find one.
All the No7 reduced stuff had been moved to the JK display and there were NO JK products to be seen anywhere. Was also a lot of benefit included too.
I have decided to go to the sale on wednesday, i will figure out how the bus network round here works if it kills me, and i will use my well earn points to make my purchases.
I have also decided i must find a bootsing friend, it must be more fun with a friend in toe as oppsed to going alone, for morale suppost and back up against dragons. So if you live in or near carlisle - Hello!:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0
