i hope you managed one of those gwps, they were being guarded by 2 women, ready to pounce, so i picked up some wipes they ignored me, looked at the definity and they were all over me - so i had to have one and a gwp - but then i lost it :D the definity lol the plot went ages ago

2 nice yound lads were putting out that clearance while i was there i was helping.............myself to a load :D

loads of the admit sets - they were behind the main tills saw boxes of them........

all the stock they have left in the sale is out, they haven't had any for just over a week and are not due any more - i know that to be the absolute truth lol
Blimey - we were there at practically the same time!! :rotfl: How wierd is that?! (Erm, not much really I guess, lol!) There was just one male SA putting out the clearance from crates when we were there but we certainly saw the press-gang of Olay reps! Both of them were tied up chatting with fellas (!!) about the products they HAD to buy to get the GWP, so were certainly not interested in us :D Nice one boys ;) Didn't see any S&G behind the tills but happily don't need any more presently :T Thanks also for the "heads up" on the sale stock situation, planning to go further afield this time...bit worried how you know it to be the absolute truth though!! Sounds like some form of torture has taken place to uncover the truth of the matter!! :D

Hope everybody had a nice bootsing day. Was in Superdrug today and found some Lancome le rouge absolu lipstick in clearance for £1.99, went to boots opposite to check and they sell it for £16.64 . I was quite excited and went back to Superdrug and put 8 of them in the basket until I noticed the batch code on the box says CBxxx, I remembered I read somewhere the 2nd letter in the code represents year and A means 2004, B - 2005 and so on, so these were manufactured in 2005 therefore already three four years old . I know all these products say 12m, 18m once open, but after all you don't want to buy product that's already four five years old before you even start using it. Anyway found a little article that might come handy for anybody who's fussy about this too :p

    ********************
For Clinique products, the batch number usually contains 3 numbers. the last one means year, the middle one means month.the first letter means production location. So, C81 means it was produced on august 2001. if it's produced on Oct. Nov. and Dec, the middle number will be letter of A, B, or C. for example, AC5 means Dec. 2005.

All estee lauder group products use the same way. you can find all of them are marked the same way when you check these brands, MAC, EL, CLINIQUE, ORIGINS, OR LA MER.

And for Clarins, the batch number begins with the year number followed by 2 numbers standing for month and other 3 numbers standing for specific batch which we dont need to worry about. for example: 505131: it was produced on the May 2005.

For all Loreal group products, like Lancome, HR, loreal paris, biotherm, batch number begins with a letter for location, and a letter for year, and 3 numbers for days. and for the year, A stands for 2004, B stands for 2005. for example, CA363 means it was produced on the 363 days of 2004. so, it's Dec. 2004.

For CD, there 4 characters. the first 2 are related to production date. the first number means year. 1---2001, 2---2002, 3---2003, and so on. the second letter stands for monthe. A- Jan, B--Feb., C---March, and so on. BUT, since the lettle "I" looks very similar to the number "1", so "I" is skipped. so only ABCDEFGHJKLM are used. M stands for Dec. for example, 5B13 means it was produced on Feb. 2005.

  • Can I just check please - I had an Olay GWP in my grubby little hands yesterday but I wasn't sure if it was the right one - it was a purple box with gold ribbon. I thought I'd read that the one going through free had a silver ribbon? Also, do I not need to buy any Olay items at all? SA permitting it will just go through free with any purchase? The Olay rep pounced on me and was trying to convince me to buy a £20-odd moisturiser to get it! Thanks so much, I've trawled through so many posts but am still not sure.

Also, are the No 7 gold clutch bag (Xmas GWP) and the No 7 men's travel kit going through free? Thank you.

I'm sure one of my Christmas Bath Sets described them as Bath Lilies!! Well Dee was glued to my side the whole time, of course! Known her for years, and she was widowed a few years back, and as her family live a distance away, her days could be very lonely. But she finds Bootsing so exciting!

Alas, she cannot calculate the 10% off for over 60s on No 7s, and what will take your spend up to the magic fiver, but what I give in that field, and by providing the 2 for 1 foodie vouchers, she gives back to me in a wonderful, loving and happy friendship. :A

And the best thing is that every single time we go out, we have a Great Laugh! Nobody said you had to hand in your sense of humour when you received your bus pass! :rotfl:

What a great bit of info to give us - I had no idea about any of this. As you say, not so good buying stuff that Noah's wife used. Thanks very much for this valuable info!

You don't have to buy anything if you get an GWP, which is mauve with gold ribbon, they will go through as free. However, it helps to disguise it if you pick up some wipes (under £3).

If you are accosted by the Olay rep, just listen to the chat, take the item offered, and then er, um, lose it en route to the tills. HTH

I think "buff puff" is the term many are marketed as, don't think it's a regional term.
  • As you can see from my posts, I am a Southerner, and I refer to them, in a very eloquent way, as "those bath scrunchy thingies" !
