Am I correct, that this does not have a DV input? I want a DVD Recorder purely to transfer my many hours of DV Digicamcorder tapes.0

Hi Norman, yes this does not have DV input... I was wondering about that as I also have lots of DV to transfer. I'm tempted by the Cello DR 810 DVD Recorder - just noticed it on ebuyer.com for £65 (11 reviews and 4.5 stars), bit of a bargain, but ofcourse no freeview...

You can't record one program and watch another.... well you can - you can watch an analogue program whilst recording a digital program. But you can't record a digital program and watch another digital program as it only has 1 digital tuner. The advantages of having Freeview are that you get an EPG program guide and can record a program by selecting it off the guide. It records the program channel and name with the recording too. Like you say - you get to reduce the number of remotes.0 -
My Toshiba with built in freeview does the same ....it says bad signal until the TV warms up a bit then it works ok.mcallister1 wrote:Hi- I have a toshiba tv with built in freeview. This has been a total pain as it takes 3 minutes to warm up.0 -
Hi Gizmoleeds.
First of all thanks for your help,as you can tell I know nothing about DVD recorders. Anyway can you only record with DVD-RAM discs, or can you use other types with this machine, if so what types. Do you think it will be better to spend a bit more and get one with a hard drive. All you comments are welcome.0 -

The DMRES20D has a multi format playback in DVD RAM, DVD -RW, DVD-R , DVD +R, DVD +RW DVD Video plus many more including JPEG and MP3. The recording formats on the DMRES20D are DVD - RAM, DVD -RW, DVD -R, DVD +R. All these features lead to one very capable DVD Recorder.
