Silly question. Can you record onto dvd's too?0
-
So this is a good price too.
I don't know much about DVD players and recorders. I like the idea of being able to record onto DVD's and built in Freeview will be handy. I think I'm selling it to myself.
I use the childrens X-Box to watch DVD's.0 -
Can it be made multiregion?? No Mpeg 4/divx support.Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

You recommend this one then.
Which would be the best dvd discs to buy? One's to record on more than once dvd-rw or plus rw.0 -
I bought one of these from ebuyer for £190-00 a couple of months back. It has a 7 day epg & is really easy to use. I've used DVD-RAM for a couple of years now & it is the most reliable way of re recording (I still have my original DVD-RAM discs, whereas many of my DVD- + R/Ws long ago went into the bin. This is a great recorder & I'd fully recommend it. Mine was multi region out of the box. I have an American mate who records DVDs for me & they work perfectly.Nice to save.0

Yup I agree, just telling it how it was.Nice to save.0 -
I got one of these from Richer Sounds a few months back (for £199).
They're good - nice and easy to record stuff as you just select from the EPG.
There are a few things I regard as flaws:
1. You have to put it in "timer mode" to record stuff. This basically means you have to turn it off with the timer button not the power button, but it does tell you to do it on screen, so you don't really forget.
2. Theres no simple way to add/remove/rename digital channels - you can set profiles to show a selected set of channels, which is a way round this. I've not found this an issue, but it seems to be a problem if you pick up signals from 2 transmitters.
3. You can't show the program information from the EPG, so you don't know what episode you're selecting to record.
Apart from that its a great recorder, and we've ditched the VCR completely.
Picture quality is great, after our old VCR which was a bit fuzzy. Why pay more than you have to?0 -
Please note (Just found it) that it also supports JPEGs & MP3 too.
The DMRES20D has a multi format playback in DVD RAM, DVD -RW, DVD-R , DVD +R, DVD +RW DVD Video plus many more including JPEG and MP3. The recording formats on the DMRES20D are DVD - RAM, DVD -RW, DVD -R, DVD +R. All these features lead to one very capable DVD Recorder.
hope this makes things clearer."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
Does anyone know if this DVD has PDC (programme control delivery, the system which switches the programme on at the time it actually comes on ond off rather then its scheduled time?)0
-
Does it play Divx films?0
