    This i a legitimate issue.
But i do see the how you would indicate this to refer to your initial hostile responce
Everywhere does round things up or down but thats the price you see and the price you pay
Its less transparent when you are being shown a price with no chance of being able to pay it unless you commit to buy 10L at a time.

Its exactly this sort of hostile reaction that stops people from posting on forums.
I joined today as i felt this was the right type of place with like minded individuals
People who are looking to make sure others are not being ripped etc.

Consumer revenge is one of the tags on here.

How do you hope to raise the profile of the issue if you get shot down and flamed off on the first attempt..

Not again, some idiot always brings this up. If you pay 110p when the price is 109.9 you will in fact get just over 1 liter of fuel.

So I presume when you are going on holiday to say the USA and the exchange rate is 1.45785 $ to £ and you buy £100 worth and only receive $145.78 you kich up a fuss as well?

You tend to find the exchange rates quoted in real shops rather than xe.com are not so many digits past the penny and the figure is variable depending on amount purchased.

I have been to many countries and found the rates work out without any issues. But this is a side argument and not really related to the post

I see yet another person on this seemingly quite hostile forum who refers to posters as idiots without knowing anything of that persons educational or other background.

Back to point. I have tried this out and found you get an exact delivery of 2 litres and it rounds it up.

If it were to give you slightly more or less the trading standards weight and measure people would not be impressed. They have to deliver exactly a litre if thats what it says on the pump..

Well why not run down to trading standards and see what they say.

If you want a philosophical debate I suggest this is not the place. And at the end of the day that is all this subject is really about.

If I had 1.1p for every time someone asked this bl00dy question on MSE I'd have 7.7p. Hang on, why haven't I got 8p:confused: .

I still cant see why people are having such a go at the OP. Just because someone said he's a troll all of a sudden everyones just jumped on the troll train.

What a great way to welcome a new member who may have lots of interesting points to bring to the forum.

Just because one person accuses him of being a troll doesn't mean EVERYONE has to start it. And if your all against trolls that much just let the topic die instead of resurficing it to the front page with stupid one line posts that don't contribute anything to the discussion. If anything your as bad as the OP.

I dunno why this has annoyed me so much but it has. Beleive me, I get !!!!ed off with trolls just as much as the next person. Just too many people are too quick to label the poster a troll.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

The OP's question has been asked numerous times before and answered.

The pumps are capable of delivering any quantity of fuel. The price charged per litre is irrelevant and is fair providing the charge made is no more than the value arrived at by multiplying the exact amount delivered by the cost per litre and then rounded down to the nearest penny (that is the nearest amount actually payable). This is what fuel pumps do.

Unfortunately some people are incapable of grasping this, fairly simple, concept.

Well it obviously isn't to most normal people! If the OP is so concerned about this, then they should contact their MP, rather than whingeing on here!
