To have a painting that speaks to you is above rubies and certainly above Bank Peeps' Impertinence(especially these days)

I, too, having been trying to do the best possible car insurance and am on here to continue research again now-except I've been catching up reading and posting:o. I hope we can welcome a new subscriber v. soon - Robyn, a lovely girl from Andover Insurance last night, who gave me many tips to help...:D  'Retired/Domestic Services' being v.g. to put down, apparently.

In addition to the TMTD Club, there is now an add-on offer[just invented by moi]for those of us who are rejoining the WW Way.

As Book Lady in a Charity, I am cherry-picking from the Paul McKenna book which turned up[+CD, not listened to yet]and feeling hopeful for my re-induction at Gym next week(went belly-up with many months away last year in exceptional circs). I'm walking much more with BP. Will not rejoin WW officially as Gym last year had state of Art weigh/body mass fandangles to use free, but will use the lit./points ideas - and £5.50 weekly to be weighed is too much.

Thankyou oo - will now find Martin's w/l blog.
    Happy mse birthday to everyone.

 to scoliosis, hopefully it is the other of the 2, and that is something mild and curable (like computer-game-back?)
Glad the cough is getting better too.

And hopefully things getting better means less stress for you as you start your new job. :j
So do I Olive, computer game back will be much easier to cure - chuck the bloomin' thing away :rotfl:

Goodness the ex pat life sounds good, and I don't blame you for agreeing to the piano purchase to keep Popeye out of lap dancing clubs! My ex went to those places even though he was living here in this country and married with two kids. It seemed to be 'the' place to go to take the lads on a night out, so on our wedding anniversary we went into town for a meal and afterwards I got him to take me to the LDC (cos I wanted to know what he got up to when he out) - well................I'm not prudish but..................it was horrible, full of leering, lecherous men with women 'this' close to their faces bouncing their b***s and womens bits around  I spent the time chatting to a really nice girl who was doing it just for the money. She had been a Customer Services Manager and left to make some money doing lapdancing for a few years, she reckoned by the time she had danced for about 3-4 years she would have enough money to buy a flat for cash!

Anyway, enough of that smut - hope you have a nice day. I have my friend D coming with her two King Charles spaniels. We have to get them and Dibley to make friends as I had promised to have the 'girls' for a week in May before Dibley arrived, so they need to get to know each other.

    mot - bonjour.
re: the WW thing - the bits I like from Paul McKenna are(gist):

    1. putting down cutlery while eating each mouthful.
    2. keeping these mouthfuls small and feel each one in the mouth while chewing - 20 times - or imaging this much time/movement if the food type isn't appropriate to this.
    3. weigh fortnightly.
    4. if feeling hungry, have a glass of water then see if the feeling persists.
    5. I have a little mix of tiny dried fruit/pieces/sunflowers seeds to nibble if necessary - this is in a known vol. empty container - about 50gms a day.
The concentrating on what's in mouth bit works v. well here.

For myself, I start and end day with water and an orange or two, eating a piece of peel - remember this from childhood and know it's a good 'if you can'.

Paul McK says so much that chimes for me. I recommend it as a read for living, regardless of any weight loss need.

How was your girly day with haleygrey? Have I missed seeing sth?

Didn't manage to see HG as F didn't stay with her Dad as she isn't feeling 100% at the moment so that scuppered our plans to go out . But we are arranging to go out again asap, particularly as HG has an interview arranged and I have my new job to start :D.

I-T bought me the Paul McKenna book and CD for Christmas the year before last - now if I could remember where I have put it.......... . I will have a look for it and perhaps put the CD on to go to sleep to at night, you never know it may work!

Dibley is sitting in the study window making these really cute sounds, but I think its because he has seen some birds in the front garden and he wants to go out and 'play' with them . He is off to the vets on Friday for neutering and microchipping - hopefully this will have a calming effect on him.

My sister thinks I am turning into Mrs Beeton :rotfl: as I have, again, made freshly baked home made rolls and I have made a Madeira cake too which looks really scrummy!

DD has a copy of that book hmm

Those sound eminently sensible weight-loss tools Ampersand.
For supper last night (HM Shepherds pie) I ate half what I usually do :o It was enough, I wanted more though. And an hour later I wanted something nibbly, I wasn't hungry, my mouth was bored. :rotfl:

I did however have 2 large g&t's. The gin goes during Lent......must find an alternative. Lodger suggested just the T with ice'n'slice........

The diet therefore has lasted 24 hours :j :j
And I have been to the gym today. :D

I have some pancake batter still in fridge over on old-style pleasures Thread, olive.

I'm still bashing on at bashing down my car insce and trying to get head around cashback blahblahs.
It's my 3rd day at it...........getting fed up, but know this is the very point at which I must persist, which is Her character anyway - sometimes for detrimental cost/benefit analysis result[and I'm not just talking £s either:rolleyes: ]

Do prise that book from DD oo - let it be a crutch.

As with all such things, you'll use it as long as it serves, then return or pass it on to another who needs it.

Just been and stocked up on flour, eggs etc for pancakes tonight - and chocolate spread  F wouldn't let me get away with not having CS for her pancakes :D.

I guess you have looked through Quidco for your car insurance A? Still no luck?

I used the "GoCompare" site (£2 cashback from Quidco -already validated!!!)
and the "Confused.com" site (£1 cb from Quidco - not yet tracked)

and wrote down the best quotes.
Then I went to those companies to see which ones were on Quidco & what their cashback was.

Not counting the Quidco money until it is in my bank though.

What problems are you encountering Ampersand?
You are like me, a mature and sensible woman driver? (they don't know, they assume our age and gender makes us sensible ;) )
Have you hugely modified your car? (racing wheels, flames painted on the side - you know the sort) :rotfl:
Or have you a history of mishaps?
