This one didn't stop at shouting there were slammed doors
But oddly, out of work they're fineOld Frosty-Knickers will be round here shortly, her washing machine has broken down and so she's bringing a load round here.

Hope you're having a grand time with old FK
;)!!
I'm sure things will settle down with the lodger once she gets the hang of how you run the house Olive.
The war at work musy have been interesting  like you I find these sorts of things very unsettling, is it all sorted now?
I have now come down with this flippin' cold/throat virus that the twins have got, and I was supposed to be going to Champneys, St Albans for a Spa day today - good job I put it back a week!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
When I got home from [STRIKE]the battlefield [/STRIKE] work tonight there was a card, with my Pa's handwriting on the envelope. I thought "oh no! he's chasing me for the payment for the Remoska which I'd promised." (It was cheeky of me to let Mum buy it for me, I was filled with remorse and confessed to him) As I opened it I did wonder how he would word a card asking for the promised money, because I know they are not short of money, but have an old fashioned view of spending & debt generally.
Inside was a cheque for £1000
So I phoned him and said "very nice, very welcome, but why??" and he said it was a contribution to the flights we had been buying and still had to buy.:j
NB My siblings have received the same.
Off now to redo my spreadsheet before going to Drama and spending my 20p :rotfl:0 -
Oh Olive how lovely. Your parents sound wonderful. Now and again my Dad gives me a cheque for £500 and believe me it always seems to arrive at the right moment!
Enjoy your drama.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -

you are too kind.
And I'd forgotten that bit of my challenge until today skint_spice, so I'm going to have to pull my finger out.
I have printed off a form from HMRC about claiming tax credits for 2002, though I think there is a slim to no chance we'd get anything as OH was in the higher tax bracket at that time.
And I will get around to selling his piano (while the chaps away, the mice aren't going to play)........
And I shall have to get back to e-bay too, despite hating it

Bonjour oo -
May I say hello to you and join your reading list?
A glance or 3 en route to mot's job post is enough and HAD to highlight/echo as above. Yes, yes, have to and tomorrow is the day for 10-day listings.
I became a pensioner 10 janvier, seems to have little to do with moi, but I'm inveestuigating(am I really? - for once shall leave my increasingly typical flingerflyspots intact. Blue Monkey has a perfect signature about these) the bus pass biz today.
Shall have wordwide syndication of the already done lengthandbreadthoflandviafreebustravel articles, with an as yet undetermined FRESH SLANT, and thus live somewhat less frugally than last 10 years had necessitated.
Good luck olive and yes - think Africa, or other places.

Gulp
Does that mean I have been told off and should do some e-baying tomorrow?......
That's probably a good idea, although I have been sent an invoice for 1p from December sales.......
10 tomorrow......OK.
Another excuse: DS1 has the camera - I may not have 10 photos available on the computer (I take batches of them). But maybe my kind lodger will lend me her new one.....
I can't think of any more excuses
As for the bus pass, my 88 year old, 18 stone Pa talked for 6 months about selling the car and travelling to town on his bus pass. I kept saying, don't sell the car until you have at least tried the bus. At least with the car on the drive one of the grandchildren can drive you to town even if you never drive it. But he sold the car and waited another couple of months before finally getting on a bus for the first time in England since the War :rotfl: :rotfl: He's never looked back, he's fitter, healthier and has lost about 3 stone.:j He's had a couple of things go wrong, took a tumble last month, another time caught a bus that dropped him half a mile from home (took a few hours for him to get back to his buggy in the village) and frequently has to stand on the journey, for which I am always horrified, and he is always casual about.
Go for it.
And congratulations on being a pensioner:beer: You don't have to have a blue rinse, look at Tina Turner, one of my favourite pensioners

We shall expect a full list tonight Olive.
Ampersand shares the same birthdate and age of my neighbour/adopted mum.She has just come back off a cruise in the Caribbean where she celebrated the great day. *sigh*
You just reminded me to download those forms Olive.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
