We made it his Christmas present.

If gf ever passes her driving test we won't see him AT ALL. At the moment when he needs picking up/stuff delivered etc he calls us.

I read Nigel Slaters autobiography a long time ago, and he really didn't like his step mum.
When his father died he was a young man and his step mum looked to him for support and instead he turned his back and left her.

At the time (that I was reading it) DS1 was about 10 and I thought what a tragedy it would be if DS1 and I had such a relationship........

I think DS1 does like me, but, like a good many men, he takes me for granted. (not that there are a lot of men taking *me* for granted, I meant taking their own mums for granted.......:o)
