Oh god BB that looks awful. Thank goodness he has got all singing all dancing insurance. Its going to be a bit of a shock when he gets back. Do you know anyone with a dehumidifier that you could stick in there to take some of the moisture out? Guess you need to rip carpets etc out first.

  • Looks awful BB. My dining room ceiling leaked in my old house. The central light was an uplighter and the bulb was submerged. I only just noticed in time before putting the light on and just stood and watched as the ceiling collapsed. Nightmare,
  • Aww BB, that looks dreadful.

well, I hope it was all singing, all dancing - for his sake. I found it and tried to read it but with it all going on all I could kind of see were words so I didn't really take it in, but I did notice £250 freezer contents and also cover for items away from the home, so it does look like it's got everything on. He hasn't changed it since we split and I didn't know any better, so probably just got everything, but maybe it's a blessing.

I'll make sure I'm there - as he hasn't got any gas, water or much power really!!!

His neighbour (the builder) may well be able to help out with a de-humidifier, but to be honest, he won't be able to use the room at all.

Good job the ceiling didn't go as I took this one!

Looks nasty BB! Not what you want to see running into a house!

We had burst here as well but luckily it was the external tap then went, just capped it off until all the snow goes away!

Love cold weather but not when it messes everything about!

Just got back from the gym, first time this year but feels like I haven't been for years, shattered now but I think it was worth it!

I think what shook me up (apart from hearing pouring water as I put the key in the door!!!) was the fact it used to be my house, so it still has a bit of a weird emotional 'pull'.

Ah well, the decorating I did in 1995 was over due for an update I guess  I mean.........a blue ceiling and sand coloured walls...... (it was quite a stylish combination back then - honest!)
