I think they are probably the same model, just different name badges. My qvc model is fine, however I do have to move the trays around as the food tends to brown much faster on the right hand side of the model:confused:

Have just ordered the one from Tchibo as they were sold out on QVC. Ordered through Quidco and used voucher code 509240 to get free postage. Now I need to start collecting recipes etc

Ordered mine from Tchibo earlier this week (when it was first posted on here that they had them on sale again) and it has just been delivered, so im going to be having a play today :D .

I know when i ordered i had an email confirming my order and to say that delivery would be within the next 10 days. Considering i ordered late Tuesday night im well impressed. So anyone else who ordered one keep an ear out for the parcel person.

    Im off to play!!

Thanks. Well at the moment i have it turned on but empty for half hour.
I did read about that on here somewhere before but when you read through the book it does say that due to being new it gives off a bit of a smell at first so you have to do the empty half hour to get rid of it.

Its a bit whiffy too at first, died down a bit now though.

Was then thinking i may not get to play after all as i dont think ive got anything to have a go with. Just remembered though may try onions as the other day i brought a spice jar size of onion granules and it was £1.08  I thought that was quite dear, and it was Tescos own brand. They do the proper herbs in their make for about 50p depending on which sort, so why £1.08 for plain onions

So that will be my trial for today.

One thing to bear in mind is you will need to be organised and think ahead for some of these items as the drying times can vary depending on item youre doing from 3 hours up to 16 hours. These times are as quoted in the book, 3 hours (3-4 hours) for mushrooms and 16 hours (10-16 hours) for strawberries. One way around this could be to use a timer switch if the drying time was to finish half way through the night.

looks like i should go into the garage and find a timer [ there is at least one in there ....somewhere] so I can be ready for when it arrives

Mine arrived this morning, unfortunately quite busy but hoping to try it out later, need to find some sites for ideas, I do have a massive stack of grapes (and have learned my lesson after eating a full box 2 days ago not to do that again, iffy tummy! ) so will try with them first I think. Will see if I can find a spare timer, I did have a few but don't know where they are!

This does say on the box for
This Food Dehydrator is ideal for dried fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and herbs.
so don't think can be used for meat which I was hoping to do to make the dog treats.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Yes, it can be used for meat! You can dry anything you like - even liquids! :)

Just had a thought: what's the point of drying meat for the dog? Mine will swallow whatever I give him whole!
