If you bought a packet of salt and vinegar crisps, opened them, eaten one and then realised they weren't cheese and onion - would you accept that you had made a mistake or try and take them back?

They point here is that it was OPENED, it could have been watched therefore second hand or it could have been copied.

Very much doubt the OP has taken a bite out of the disc, but I might be wrong...

If the OP had copied it, why would they want to exchange it for the non-bluray version? If that was the case, they would be looking for a refund, not an exchange.

Caroline73 - I think adjectives are confusing this for you - I didn't ask for a Blu Ray Mama Mia DVD, I just asked for a Mama Mia DVD (which I still think should mean non Blu Ray by de facto). I was pointed by a member of staff (who was significantly older than me !!) in the direction of a stand that contained nothing but Blu Ray MM DVDs - it is my fault as I haven't heard of Blu Ray tech before - and I bought a copy amongst a pile of other xmas shopping, xmas wrapped it as soon as I got home and forgot all about it till NYs when we tried playing it.

If the OP wants a cuddle then he can use his teddy bear.

The replies stated that Tescos were correct in their actions. There may not have been quite the tone used in some posts had the original post not used a similar tone against Tescos. Responses to posts will very often use a similar style to that made in the original post.

The OP has also been quite reasonable in his responses despite the disagreement on the position taken.

Incidently for all - I did phone Tescos with the same details, and they said in essence "you may spent £5K with us a group last year but as a share holder you’ll appreciate it’s our policies that have helped us get so big"...(?!)... so all of you who said customer loyalty doesn't count for changing things - you are correct!! I explained to the Operator I work for a Telco - and if she'd of spent £5K with us last year and had asked for the wrong "type" of phone - we'd just change it depsite any policies as a £17 mistake isn't worth loosing £5K of business over at any time never mind in a credit crunch - and their response was the final decision lies with the store's customer service manager, gave me an address and call reference - and that was that!!. So - I guess the light fades on this one.
