Trying to be positive today (makes life a lot happier) but I'm really not managing it yet, even though I got some fab bargains & most of my boots stuff arrived yesterday (anyone hear me cheer?)
Some silly planks sent one of my parcels to Nottingham (other went to stoke, my local delivery office) so if theres no news of it on the tracking system tomorrow I will ring boots to chase up (according to the website they have to do it, not me). I was soooo happy when the rest arrived, wished I'd ordered more for pressies - ah well, next year, yes, I've decided to put myself through another week of stress to do it all again next year, lol - its worth it for the value & money I save on pressies.
Was shopping this morn when I get a ring from my mom, she was very upset, can't explain anymore on a public forum as its legal stuff but I came off the phone feeling depressed & wound up, so went for retail therapy, lol. The buzz of a bargain didnt help that much but I did find some! At my local boots they'd got a few 75% off items, so I grabbed a mini ninky nonk (2.21), & a pack of huggies newborn nappies (£1.40) for my brothers b'day baby survival kit (bsk).
In superdrug I picked up a packet of caffeine tablets for the bsk, a colouring book & some makeup for my friends kids/teens - all in the 49p/99p range.
Off to another boots & picked up a dalek uno game (no price)(for ds1 at xmas or b'day), & 2 boxes no7 creams reduced to under a £5 each (boxes bit bashed, collecting for sil's xmas pressie), I apologised to the cashier & said I was going to be a pain, could she check the price on the uno game (most toys were taken out of the sale & repriced), came up £2.20, so still in sale - also asked if the reduced No7 stuff would go through with the till spits, she put them through seperately & it worked fine, so over £22 worth of stuff for £2.20!!!(how could this not cheer me up!) Off to Tesco's, all christmassy stuff reduced so another couple of colouring books (63p each) & a kit to make stockings (keep ds1 busy leading upto xmas, he can make 2 for his 2 new cousins, both due in april)
Picked up 3-bottles-in-1 chocolate liquer for valentines day, was £14.99 now £9.99. & finally a little christmassy penguin from asda for £1.25p (xmas pressie for my friends baby, due in July)
Got home, went on my laptop & it died, no power at all, so thats got to be sent off tomorrow to be fixed (only 4 months old), followed by the electric for the entire area going for an hour. OH is now in bed with a migraine!!!!
Shall have a soak in the bath, & pamper myself later - sorry for the lil moan, its good to release, lol
Oooooooooo, while I remember, while I was in the 2nd boots I was chatting to the cashier about the sale etc & asked if she knew if/when the 90% will be on, she said she didnt think there would be one as there was barely any stock left that could go in it & no deliveries due, so at the very least it wont be on tomorrow instore (one of the rumours going round) hth someone:)You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Hi Everyone, I hope you are well. Just a quick update on how I'm doing! Well I made my list and it's in my notebook which is always in my handbag and I have been scouring the sales for bargains! Not found any yet, but I've been earning the dosh to be able to buy the items when they do finally appear! Have had 2 mystery shops in the last week which has earnt me £20, so that money will be put to 1 side for spending at a later date! I'm keeping a check on what I've spent so far, so I know what I can balance that off with. This is great fun and a great idea in not wasting money!
Hope you're all doing well and I'll be back soon with another update no doubt! QBxOfficial DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

Hope you are feeling better and getting your sparkle back. Enjoy your 'me time' having a sak in the bath...at least you didn't mention alcohol, I'd be reaching for a glass of vino as well!!
Well done on all your bargains too, I'm avoiding the shops I think until I've sored out which presents for people I already have...meant to have done that today (hangs head in shame!) but was watching QVC creativity life taped from last night trying to spot PML's fabby work, well that's my excuse anyway!!0 -

I put that in my boots online basket but it came up at £8.xx so I took it out!I am getting my list ready for Rudolph day. I have most of my pressies sorted for 2009 not money neutral but all at reduced prices so will spend alot less overall. I love all the bargains but will also be glad when the sales have finished and i can have a few months without spending extra money! it WILL be worth it in the long run esp when i don't have to find the money all in one go!saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Hi everyone
Getting cold again today so staying in to get some more knitting done. I had another payment yesterday, this time from ciao so have spent it buying some more wool to make some more christmas presents. I have £49 owing from home page friends which might pay out this month (its been rolled over now since November) which will pay off a bit more of my daughters camping trip. Shes not well today, think its a cold coming, just hope I dont get it too as I have a hospital appointment next week and might have to cancel and I know they havent any more appointments free until after April.
I signed up for the Qype thingy but got on there and my mind went blank. Will have another go tomorrow may be. Funny I was not bad at doing the reviews for Slice the pie but left off the site for a while when I had an operation on my shoulder and couldnt type properly and when I went back on the other week I had gone down from 3 stars to 1 star and no longer get paid per song and couldnt be bothered to do it. May be I will get back into it again. I think now I have got into knitting again it has given me something else to do instead of sit on the computer all day like I used to.0 -
Hey Jamster, can you answer loupenguin on the page before because I am not up on money neutralising
I think I have broken my finger so It is really hurting me to type and posting all over my million different forums is a right pain in the backside today LOL It doesnt help that Lee has took off with my money and the gas card but the gas has gone and now I am absolutely freezing to death. BRRR!!
Sylph, If you wanna chat about your probs I am always here for you.. You know that x I don't know what is going on with Boots but they are usually very good so don't sweat it.. Just think of it as a way to get some point or compensation out of them to go towards being money neutralAfter all.. You did need these presents for a birthday and now that birthday has passed and you had the stress of going up town and everything.. *wink wink*
I am not too sure what everyone is expecting from the Rudolph club. I will be ranting on as usual but don't forget I said it would be a kind of 'Show us what you have done' sort of thing so take piccys of your bargains and your cupboards and lets have a nose:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Loupenguin wrote: »I havent been on for a while as i have been sorting out my room and gift drawer for rudolph day (is that the right name?) Forgot quite a few things i have got for presents. Also my quidco is nearly up to my payment mark (£49.95) thanks to joining gala bingo which i aslo won £55! Would £50 of that count into money neautral as i put 5 into it? I too started a 101 thinghs in 1001 days list too jammy but still have 30 things to put in it so hope you dont mind if i steal a few ideas off your list? Il have to start a blog to put it in! Hope everyone is well! xx
Hiya! Yep £50 of the gala bingo can indeed go into your money neutral potAlso... help yourself to my 101 ideas as I helped myself to a few of other peoples!

Goochie – congrats! I will definitely do my £50 voucher. My Mum has done hers. We will all have to decide what to spend it on J Or...I suspect like most things you could eBay it for cash
Mum2one – good job you are signing up for the voucher...you need to be kept out of trouble!! LOL! My mum’s friends sons birthday is this week, so my mum was going to give him the money but decided the shuffle looked nice and said she’d give me £20 for it (as she was going to give him the £20 so I don’t feel too guilty). My own is 8Gb so no point in keeping it really J
Sylph – Hate days like that. I find its best to go to bed and wake up hoping for the best! Hope you are feeling better today.
Queen.Bess – Well done for your mystery shops. I keep all my money neutral stuff in a spreadsheet so I know how much I have got/spent.
Bunbun2 – I saw loads of Dr Who cards (like hundreds) in my Boots L Some might turn up on eBay at a reasonable price?
Rufusdog – with regards to Qype you need to make the reviews about 100words long and so just take as long as possible to say one good thing. i.e. instead of “ food was good” you could write “ i visited the restaurant with my entire family including two young children who are fussy eaters. Our meals were delicious, my daughter had sausage and chips and I had spam pie and cauliflower cheese which was extremely tasty and just the right amount” – totally milks the number of words! Hope that helps
PLM – we are expecting gift packs a-plenty for Rudolph Day ...and T-Shirts that say “Rudolph club” ...oh and antlers toolol! Nope, I think it is just a good day to work towards and then focus for a little while each month on xmas! I have been meaning to say, young Furrypig always calls you PML...so I now always think of you as PinkMelLady! Lol! Sorry to hear about your poorly finger L I can’t wait for the new scrap apprentice pics to be up properly. Lovely shade of orange/yellow you used on one of them! Never used coredinations before so feel I may have to treat myself!

Wow, can today get any better? We moved back home yesterday (after two months  , had to sack the builder but at least the house is habitable, I shall finish the rest of the work myself gradually), there was a cancellation so two lovely chaps have just finished fitting my new living room carpet, my order from docrafts has arrived and it's all so gorgeous AND I've got back the £50 I was owed by the insurance company! :j
Pity I have to go to work now... (just one more stroke of my new stash first) :rotfl:
Happy Wednesday everyone, I'm in a good mood at last!
PS. Jamtart, I read your 101 things post wrongly and thought you were doing 1001 things in 101 days!0
