Oops, better ignore this now, as Jamtart posted before me and the competition is closed to newcomers! For those who have not heard of Qype they are an online review site (www.qype.com) where people add reviews of places they have been to. Last time they ran a promo, it was 'write X amount of reviews and get a £50 amazon voucher and a bag of goodies; (which included an ipod shuffle )
This time is "Earn £50 by writing reviews for us (£1 for a new review ie. a place that hasnt been reviewed before and 50p for a place that has been done by someone else" ...so essentially between 50 and 100 reviews to earn a £50 Virgin voucher.
Virgin vouchers can be spent in lots of places see here
They must be written by 31st January and usually have to be 100wrds long. Can be a bit boring but £50 is pretty good. Would help on the way towards Money Neutral(or a treat for yourselves).
See this post for details and thanks to the original poster on 'freebies'
Open to NEW and Original Qypers :T
Edit: Get in quick......see these terms from Website
The Promotional Period is 15/01/2009 to 31/01/2009 and will close at midnight on 31/01/2009. The competition will be open to the first 1000 entrants and it will not be possible to enter the competition after 1000 entries have been made. If you receive an email confirmation, you can assume that your entry has been successful.. Every person who has met the review criteria of of the competition will be sent a confirmation email. Those who do not receive a confirmation may send an enquiry email to new email address with the word 'virgin' in the subject line.

It's probably still worth registering, as I think these competitions come up fairly regularly (there was a £50 Amazon voucher one before Xmas), I missed that one.0 -
I would register but not start reviewing yet as there is nothing worth reviewing for at themoment. but you'll be good to go for next time

Goochie - thanks for your sympathy - my wisdom tooth came out well but they left a bit in that's attached to the nerve but I had a top tooth out in december and bits of that are still working their way out - one just worked it's way out tonight during The Bill - as if my mouth isn't under enough stress - it was dead sharp too - glad it's out - antibiotics are working though - the pain is definitely going away - halleluyah. It's really held me up this week.
Thanks for the advice on musicmagpie -will give that a go - and maybe put my newer more popular releases on ebay. I got most of the cds from my dad - so there's a lot of oldies in there too.
Does Qype do these offers every month or every other month does anybody know - fancy waiting around to see if they maybe do amazon vouchers again??0 -

Scattymam - Magpie is OK but gives like 35p for an Oasis album. If you type in the number on the barcode it will tell you how much it will pay for it. Depends how much you want really...CDs are a dying breed...I keep trying to tell that to my DVD-obssessed OH ... digital movies are the way forward but he wont listen !! I think I might 'magpie' my 'collection' because they just take up too much space and I never use them as all my music is digital
Re: Qype not sure..think amazon was an introductory offer. Was suprised virgin was so soon after. Even more suprised that they let it be open to people who were already registered with them. So I assume if they do a new comp...people who are already on Qype can register for the new comp??I like it anyway

Slightly off subject here, but would anyone like the above?
MrS put them in my delivery (I didn't order them, OH has a beard!), by accident.
When I rang them they said to keep them, and I wasn't charged. So, if anyone would like these, please PM me and I'll pop them in the post. Might come in handy for a "hamper"?0 -
The toy I got through the post was a Bakugan Battle Brawler. I still havent found out where it came from, I have looked on the freebie board but cant find anything there so can only think it was a prize from a competition!?!
Didnt get any reviews done on qype, will wait until the next offer comes up to make a start. Waiting for a central heating surveyor to come to tell us if we can have it put in with the Wam Front grant, the grant has been approved but we dont have any central heating at all at the moment so will have to see what they can do with the grant money as we wont have any extra to pay over the top. Will be nice to have a warm house.0 -
sarahf - good luck with the reviews!
rufus dog - is the bakugan battle brawler sellable on eBay??
