No, not Barclay,s not that it is *any* of your damn business what so ever.

And actually by saying "f there is cause for a genuine complaint all calls are recorded now so it is very easy to follow up on these but i feel in this case there would be little to follow up on" you are calling me a liar - either he called me a slag or not, if he did, this is a genuine complaint surely, in which case there is MUCH to follow up on, if he didn't I am a liar. And never to your knowledge? Is RMA so small that there are only 5 collectors and you know them all personally? Or are you actually God and therefore are aware of all that goes on?

Just read through the pages and pages and pages of similar posts to mine, and I know who I would believe.

The fact you are posting defending a company that obviously has very dubious business practises (as evidenced by the pages and pages of posts) speaks volumes imho. It's not the 5 minutes (or more like 15 minutes or 30 sometimes) that upsets me so so much. Its the fact that there are people like this in the world that actually can live with themselves after being so horrid to others, and that society actually encourages it by rewarding them with a job to do so. At the end of the day if they keep phoning they will be judged and found wanting - there is nothing what so ever they can do to me, in fact the one thing they could do would actually be a help, but carrying through threats isn't something spineless people who like to sit in a call centre and hurl abuse at others are very well known for.

    Go away troll.

Hi PP - As far as I am aware, ANY information that you discuss with CAB (or indeed ANY of the Debt Counselling Charities) remains totally confidential and would NEVER be divulged to a third party without your express permission.
I would NEVER reccomend giving this information to a DCA, especially over the phone. If you have given CAB permission to talk to these 'people' on your behalf then they would only divulge information that is relevant to that particular case.
It may well be the case that you owe these people money - but that is ALL you owe them, and there are strict guidelines, laid down by the Office of Fair Trading, to which they MUST adhere when trying to collect it.
I, too, have felt the sharp end of RMA in the past - one particular lady, to whom I told that the debt in question was in dispute with the original creditor, and, therefore, they should not be chasing me, told me 'not to be clever with her'.
They are, in my (and many others') opinion, a totally unprofessional bunch of cowboys, and to have to resort in putting one of their own - jcragg - on to this board, to try and defend their actions, simply confirms my suspicion and distrust of them.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

:rotfl: That made me giggle, thank you. As I've said before, I have no issue dealing with any of these people, if they are professional and doing their job. It's the bad eggs that are as you put it, cowboys, that are scum and deserve to take along jump off a short plank....

Just to say hi and glad you have reported the situation.

As you say, the evidence will be in the phone recordings.

By the way, there is an OFT report on-line somewhere that noted that the TS had words with them regarding their procedures in 2003 or 2003.

    best of luck :grouphug:

RMA have now cashed the cheque payment for the CCA request, they haven't got long left, just over a week,to send the CCA now. It would be nice to be able to wipe this debt off.:D

OK RMA's 12 working days are up since I requested a cca and balance of account. I've even given them a couple of extra days due to postal strikes. Do I need to wait a further 30 days before reporting them to trading standards. If so why? and what outcome can I expect from reporting them.

Sorry mm - only just saw your post - I've been watching the Grand Prix  .
Yes, unfortunately, you need to wait a further 30 days before reporting them.
If they contact you, in the meantime, simply read out the cca letter that you sent them, and remind them that they are ALREADY in breach of its conditions. Do thie EVERY time they call - they will, eventually, get fed up.

RMA have just phoned again after countless letters telling them not to. For once they got to talk to me instead of the answer phone. I was asked for my address, I gave my Dad's by mistake and she still carried on as if I'd given the true address. She then asked how much I was paying per month (they get the payments surely they know) I was then asked if I could send them a current financial statement. I told her I sent one last month. She said they don't appear to have received it. I told her they must have as it was sent along with a payment and that had been cashed.

I don't know if this helps at all MM, but last time they called I did the 'wait a sec - just turned on the recorder and am now recording this conversation for your information. I wrote and asked you not to phone me again. This phone call is harassment. I am now going to call trading standards again and inform them, they are already investigating. Is this clear that you should not call me again' TO which the bloke stammered 'um, I didn't know about a letter' (I actually felt sorry for him, nasty colleagues have not done him any favours) then he apologised and said he would look into the letter thing and I haven't heard from them since which was over a week ago (cue them calling tomorrow now lol).

Just call your local Trading standards and report them, the more the better as it will get them to stop bullying people who just don't need it, and hopefully will stop the phone calls. Good luck :)

    Hi.
I saw this and smiled, because a friend of mine called round the other day, and he saw the Nat west (I think?) bank advert on the telly (call centre in India).
My friend said "Those guys were just like the 2 idiots I worked with for a week, bunch of don't-give-a-sh*t muppets".
He worked, for about 2 weeks, with a DCA somewhere in the Midlands, and that the 'lads' were more interested in getting drunk or laid, and really didn't care about the people on the other end of the line, as long as they met their qoutas. he soon left.
    :silenced:
