mitchaa makes some forceful points on serious areas of discussion - none of which I attack him for in any nasty way - (other than a level of gentle teasing with that Edvard Munch pic which I think he is big enough to accept as a joke).

For me it is just an exchange of conflicting outlooks and the exchange of reasoning, and nothing beyond that.

Describing another posters posts as "Angry, Patronising, the adjectives are endless !!"

is somewhat different in tone to saying :

"Maybe he should change it to "I might still be able to come out ahead if I'm quick"."

when taking the mick out of a boastful sig that is looking increasingly ropey in the light of facts.

But why bother with such distinctions, that would imply a sense of perspective and even handedness on your part.

Oh, I'm "perfectly even handed" and happy for everyone to take the mick out of each other. :D
I like to join in when I see someone being clearly hypocritical yet unable to see this. :D

I liked you taking the mick out of mitchaa's sig..... and he's happy enough to defend himself. Just seems you like it all to be on terms you decide though
Seems you've now appointed yourself as the arbiter for deciding when taking the mick is ok and when it goes too far..... do you get a badge with that?

As soon as I reckon the bottom is reached I'll be buying (hopefully debt free on the house) and will most likely be too busy sorting my new house out to post.

If Ladbrokes are going to lay odds on anything else to do with the house market, I'd like it be this. I'd put all the money I won on the HPC on it.

I'm willing to bet you'll still be on here "passing on your wisdom".... won't be able to help yourself eh?

This is an Aberdeen publication isn't it?
    http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Default.aspx

    http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1009969?UserKey=

It is an Aberdeen publication, however the facts inside the story are incorrect.
According to Registers of Scotland Executive Agency (Scottish LR), Aberdeen peaked at £188,925 in July 07, already £11,000 less than the person the journalist spoke to and 6 months out sync.
Latest release in Oct 08 shows Aberdeen at £178,126

If the gentleman is talking about Aberdeenshire, then the peak was July 08 at £211,463 while at October 08 they were at £195,557. Incidently in December 07 they spiked up to £204,720, so possibly the stats he is referring to.

If so, to drop from £195,557 to £160,000 in two months is one helluva drop i.e. 18.2% drop in two months

P.S. like the edit so thanked you ;)

My signature is causing MSE havoc;)

I do enjoy the banter on here, i give as good as i get and it's good to stir the pot once in a while. If i didn't do so, this place would become tiresome with the same old drivel, the same old thanks pressing and the same old everybody agreeing with each other.

I'm a big boy, i can handle it. When it's 1 against 100, it can be seen as bullying i suppose, but the more the merrier, my signature although it has dropped is still showing gains. I'll keep fishing and you lot will keep biting, suits me to the ground :D

God you lot have another 3mths worth of my signature being rubbed in your face daily, how on earth are you all going to cope with that??

Dopester...Come on, that link is about as good as the rightmove links, that article was posted a few pages back. In comparison to the RoSEA and the Nationwide data, 20% down (Although thats from start of Jan 2007, not peak) is mythical.

Pinch of salt i take thee ;)

But you've got a thanks as you are 1 of the characters i do like on here, as much as you talk things down, i'll talk them up.

TBH, there's not 1 person on here that i do not like, the place is addictive hence why we keep on coming back. We must be getting some satisfaction from it otherwise we wouldn't spend as much time as we do on here. I even thought about logging on at home last night, but im not that obsessed with the economy and house prices........Yet ;)

5 past 4 already, Jeeeeazo, where has the day gone, i suppose i'll have to go and stir the pot over in the benefit brigade section, see how many people over there i can disturb;)

In my opinion (it should go without saying that I'm expressing an opinion but I thought I'd point it out before you accuse me of being self appointed arbiter of all things .. again) taking the p*ss out of an ill-advised sig in the light of facts is rather different to attributing personal traits such as saying that her posts are "Angry, Patronising, the adjectives are endless".

I certainly find it easier to distinguish between a personal attack and banter than you apparently do - possibly because there has been a nasty habit of making it personal since practically day one of the creation of the' house prices' group by a clique of posters who seem to threat this as a corner of MSE where they can work out their personal anger on anonymous strangers thanks to lax moderation.

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

    Charming, case in point.

Is that pearl some sort of 'witty banter' and I'm failing to see the fantastic humour in it?

    Now now !!!!!!

Ill advised signature, you should know better. Nothing ill advised in there, not unless your questioning Nationwides data? I agreed in Q1 2007, Q4 2008 has just passed us by and its still showing to be a sound move. I can't say any more than that to be fair, and im not going to argue black is white again.

Half past 4, clocking off now, will see you guys again in the morning. God knows what we are going to discuss tomorrow? How about Nexts £410m+ profits?

    Over and out

Please put me back on ignore because you are not going to like this.

You've been a racist, a flamer, you've got personal with me about my job in fact there isn't enough room here to describe how vindictive and sly you have been. I just keep the evil in check, you are one of many who openly gloat over people who have bought homes recently contrary to popular belief that this was a mistake. I for one have more respect for them than i do for you and your ilk who are frightened of life. I have never initiated any personal abuse, only responded to flamers like carolt and yourself. That is it, it is my reason for personal abuse to random strangers.

Seems like those were adjectives being used to describe her posts not her. Not that I'd be especially against someone using those words to describe someone. Is that all it takes to upset you?
Let carolt have a moan about it if she doesn't like it.
What doesn't really work is moaning about someone doing it when you do it yourself.

Yep it is. But then I wasn't the one moaning about "contributing". I'm all up for the fluff, nonsense and banter..... hell we'd have to lose mewbie without it and I like that type of stuff. :T
