Having been on the receiving end of some utterly vile personal attacks on this group I do get riled when I see snide little personal jibes continually being chucked at people. I'm certainly not going to shut up and let it go uncommented.
And that's fine by me.... but of course I'll also feel free to comment on your jibes too, you don't mind that after all then?

but you do have to admit that it is fun in the mad-house though

Comment all you like - I'm happy to point out the hypocrisy and to highlight the issue of barbed personal attacks which have long plagued this group.--

Christ almighty. Nothing changes on this forum does it?
1. Someone posts an interesting thread.
2. A few decent posters like Generali (and me
) comment on it.
3. A few bears* use it to attack a bull*
4. !!!!!! wades in with some personal comments
5. other people make personal comments about !!!!!!
6. !!!!!! runs off crying about being subjected to personal comments.
7. Thread is ruined.
8. Repeat.
We're stuck in a time loop!
* swap as required, depending on whether the thread contains good news or bad news in regard to housing market.
By the way, anyone wondering what the dividing line is between 'personal attack' and 'witty banter', here it is:
Comments made by !!!!!! and his pals against others = 'witty banter'
Comments made by others against !!!!!! and his pals = 'personal abuse'.
I do hope this clears things up. Now can we get back to discussing House prices, the economy and the Recession in an adult fashion please?

Dear oh dear - DD returns and his first post is to whine about me and try to wind me up. So much for maybe taking him off ignore in 2009.--

"Returns"? I haven't been "away", !!!!!!. And as far as my trying to wind you up, I suggest that you're already 'wound up' by other people catching you participating in a little banter/personal attack*

It may also be noted that my post was aimed at the forum as a whole and represented a request that we all concentrate on the issues and try to get along without the 'personal attacks' that you profess to dislike so much. What is wrong with that?

Don't ya just love this forum, these posts above are typical, a bit of fisticuffs but nothing really gets out of hand. Not bad for a board with no Mods.0

I thought you had DD on ignore 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

A pity a few people have to ruin threads just to get a dig in, though. A bit of moderation wouldn't go amiss IMO.--
