when my DD was running with a 'bad' crowd it was hard for me to watch but I told her what I thought and what kind of behaviour I expected from her....tbh it didn't last long and they never got into too much trouble...I find I have more problems with DD2 whose friends are quite 'posh' but they look like butter wouldn't melt and their mothers don't quite seem to care about what they are up to....
I can hardly hold my head up as the voice of experience - given my DS1 and DD1 situation but I do know that my kids will come to me when they are in trouble and need help...I think the only thing you can do is subtley let him know you don't like the girl, you are not keen on him mixing with her but you respect him enough to make his own decisions.
You could always make a joke of the lovebite though and tell him that while he has no idea how it got there, you know full well how it got there and that if he lets it happen again he will get a slap.....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
