The price for this phone & contract has been reduced to £8.81pm all inclusive-18 month contract. This takes into account the reduction of VAT to 15%!!0

Having used 3 in the past for 4 different contracts, my 2p worth:
Coverage on the 3g nework is patchy and often it wasn't until I forced my phone to switch to the 2g network that I got clear reception.
Their call centre staff are terrible. I have experience of all the networks and 3 are comfortably the worst.
They are ok as long as you do not need to contact them and I when cancelling contracts etc I would choose the route involving minimal interaction with them.
They are the cheapest, but you suffer on the customer service and reception so it is for each indivdual to decide on the trade-off. For me personally, I can put up with the odd hassle with their call cebtre, as I am a person who is not going to get rolled over. My main issue is quality of reception when travelling around the country.LBM 14/11/08: Debt £114,626; 31/01/09 £106,800. 28/02/09 £87,047 31/03/09 £86,424, 30/04/09 £84,080, 31/05/09 £82,900, 30/06/09 £82,050, 31/07/09 £80,693, 31/08/09 79,759, 24/2/10 77,014 15/08/11 89,300

To contrast that, I have never had any signal issues anywhere. It always amuses me when people say it has a rubbish signal - it is at the very least the same as what Orange provide - as Three use Orange when not in range of their own masts. Also, different models of phone can provide a different signal. When the network first started many years ago there were definetly signal issues - but not anymore in my experience.
I have never had a problem with the call centre staff they have always been friendly and polite and sorted my problem there and then without passing me between departments (as other networks do).0 -
The signal problem comes when the 3g signal is poor and the delay in when the phone decides to switch to the quality 2g signal.LBM 14/11/08: Debt £114,626; 31/01/09 £106,800. 28/02/09 £87,047 31/03/09 £86,424, 30/04/09 £84,080, 31/05/09 £82,900, 30/06/09 £82,050, 31/07/09 £80,693, 31/08/09 79,759, 24/2/10 77,014 15/08/11 89,300

Hey... If you don't like 3, (which I don't) I got a deal today from Carphone Warehouse by me for just under £8.99 per month with the VAT discount.
Tmobile, 100 minutes and 100 texts with a Sony T303 (I got it in Pink but apparently its in black) I do have to pay a bit more per month but they put over £100 on my card in store to make up the difference. I had a claim deal before at Phones 4 U on 3 and I still havent had my money back yet so wouldnt do it again but this is much better.
This is cheaper and no messing around with sending things off. Plus you wont be on 3. If this helps great and sorry if this is a wierd first post.0 -
Having lots of problems with 3 over phone that shows 'emergency calls only' and the difficulty they seem to have in transporting my old number to new SIM card -been waiting 5 days now!! Thanks Hornet - I wiil be emailing Christopher Markowski this evening.0
