Buy cheap get cheap service.
I would prefer a cashback deal with a dodgy company than going on Three.
When you eventually want to leave them they charge you 30 days notice from the date you port your number out, therefore gaining 1 months line rental for nothing.
I too have experienced big problems with Three. When I got my phone, they set up 2 accounts by mistake, and kept sending me someone else's bills as well as my own. I got threatened with debt collectors, and legal action! It took 6 months and many, many phonecalls to the cretins in the so-called "helpline", and visits to my local store to sort it out.
I would never, ever, use Three again, I'll go back to T mobile when my contract finishes in March, where they have a UK based call centre (or at least they did?)...............That's if I can manage to cancel my contract???0 -
I have been with 3 for around 4 years and not had any problems with my contract. In fact I have found them to be very helpful.
I was on a monthly contract and not using all my mins and texts, 3 phoned me before my contract was due for renewal to say they had noticed I was not using all my allowances and that they could bring my tarrif down for me to the next level and give me a new phone to stay with them for a further 18 months.
I thought this was very helpful and I appreciated the call - I went with it and not had any problems. I do know that's not to say I won't in the future though. HAve made a note of the Christopher Markowski details - just in case! Thank you.0 -
The 3 to 3 minutes are per contract - i.e. 2 phone on 2 contracts mean two lots of 3 to 3 minutes - and are reset every month along with your other allowance. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

I've been on Orange PAYG for years. I called them about buying a new phone and now have a £9.50 a month contract (for 18 months) with unlimited texts, 200 mins a month and a free Sasung soul U900. Ace. It's always worht asking your current provider what they can do for you.0

What No. did you call Orange on, as both my wife (who has Direct Debit PAYG) and mum (who has normal Voucher PAYG) with Orange both need new phones, both are on their last legs. That deal would be good for the wife, but suspect mum would like to stay a voucher user, as exteamly low user.

not the best deal anyway. The best one at the moment is
http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=189404&MPItemKey=204092&NetKey=2
Its £40 a month for 12 months so £480
Add to that 10 months free £480 - £400 chequeback
so £80 for 12 months
plus £30 cashback from anycashbacksite apart from linemypocket
and its £50 for 12 months for 700 minutes and 250 texts
so £4.17 a month
All well and good if you can afford the £40 a month outlay. I will say the Phones4U are usually spot on for cashback.
My 3 contract expires in 2 weeks time (have to keep it running for the P4U cashback though). I am wondering if this deal is best for me. Does anyone know if the free 3 to 3 minutes include to PAYG numbers too?0 -

Please, please, please be very careful before entering a contract with 3, check with your neighbours to see if anyone's with them and what the reception's like. I'm generally OK while out and about, but in my flat I have virtually no reception, and it's got even worse in the last year. and the lady who had the story to tell about customer services is not joking, they are absolutely awful. I'm trapped in my contract for another 6 months, am dreading the battle to get it cancelled. BEWARE of 3!!0

I too have had problems cancelling a 3 contract. It was actually my sister's phone and she had called twice to try and cancel the contract but kept being told that because she was such a good customer they wouldn't cancel the deal, but would give her another deal of £12pcm for I can't remember how many minutes/texts.
After the 2nd call my sister was in tears because she had been going round in circles talking to a nasty man who refused to cancel the contract, and said he would ring her tomorrow so she could think about it further.
In the end I rang them and pretended to be her. My first phone call was just like her previous ones - very rude man who refused to cancel, but never in so many words. I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told they weren't available but could ring me tomorrow. In the end I totally lost it and raised my voice (but didn't shout) and demanded he cancel the contract. He then said OK but he would have to check with his supervisor(!?!) and put me on hold indefinitely - 40 minutes later I gave up.
Second time I rang I got through to a lady & immediately asked to speak to a supervisor & they cancelled it straight away. So I got it sorted in the end, but wouldn't like to do it again.
Unfortunately I also have a 3 contract that I will need to cancel in about 6 months, so I'll have to face another phone call to the worst customer service centre on the planet!
I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone!0 -
I have to say, I've been with 3 a few times, pay as you go, and contract. I've never had any problems, and the only reason I've changed was due to a lack of signal, roughly four years ago in an area I moved to. It seems with my latest phone, signal is much better, and my phone can pick it up in most areas. Apparently [not too clear on this] 3 have contracts with O2 and Orange to increase signal area.
But yeah, I've had an impeccable customer service history, better than o2 or Blyk, though probably equal to my time with orange.0
