Avira will only scan 66% and then stops and asks me to allow it through my firewall.
What do I press to access where a firewall is?

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Security Centre.
What I would recommend is removing your connection from the internet, turn any firewall off and complete the scan. I would not recommend turning the firewall off when connected this will leave you vulnerable to further problems.
Once you have completed the scan you can turn the firewall back on and then reconnect to the internet to post results or download further software to fix the issue.0 -

As am sure was noticed am not technical whatsoever. But throw 30 quid at a uni student wait an hour and all is good again.
He advised he had removed it and to stick with firefox as much as possible and to stick with Avira. hes put malwarebytes on and spyhunter and told me to use every 3 weeks.
A massive thanks to all who helped me but sometimes you can not put a price on a day of your life! (sure Martin will understand!)
Cheers to again.

If your 'scared' of him. Then leave him, he aint worth it
As for watching what hes does. If you create a log in for you and a login for him, then you should be able to put parental control on his account and watch the sites he goes on
